There's nothing more I'd like to see than the Allams selling up, "but what I really feel, my eyes won't let me hide, coz they always start to cry".
Seen there's an article by Stuart Rayner in the Yorkshire Post today headed 'Hull CityTakeover' and talking about how the Allam reign will be remembered. Can't actually access the article online but anyone seen it? Does it say anything concrete or just more speculation? Suspect the latter.
I can only see the headlines, something about Assem Allam will only be remembered for the disrespect of the Hull City fans. Sounds about right
The Allam Diabetes Centre,, funded with a £6m donation from Allam. I'm fairly sure history will judge him as a complex man.
He had the potential to be as loved by City fans as Leicester fans loved Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha. I do wonder whether he realises this and also where he went wrong.
I think many will remember the yellow/mustard coloured shirts. History on that basis will not be kind.
I often think back to that Cardiff game when we went up, everyone on the pitch, all ecstatic, fans, team, owners all seemingly pulling in the same direction, and If he could rewind if he would do things differently from that point, or stick with his 'no one tells me how to run my business' stance?
They don't think they've done any thing wrong though Hornsea. They point to the clubs trophy cabinet and they point out the good stuff the family have given to the city like the Cancer Unit and so on. They are also not exactly on the bones of their arses either. I've said it many a time on here that the trouble started with that initial meeting with Geraghty over the future plans for the stadium and the surrounding land. Nothing has happened to either since but HCC wouldn't even entertain the Allam's plan's, and there was a deal to be done there, a deal that no one else has offered since. They will also point to the 'Allam Out' campaign, and repeat that if the fans don't want them they also don't want their money. Hence the club has had to wipe it's own arse clean ever since.
