As soon as a Leeds player shows themselves to be top class, whether it's Meslier, Llorente, Phillips or Raphinha, the talk starts about them 'inevitably' leaving. Does my head in. There's nothing inevitable about it. Negative thinking imo. Some people just love to worry - constantly. I prefer to concern myself with the next game and whether we can get three points, not whether a player will or won't leave in eight or nine months time. Let's just view these great players as being committed to Leeds and the Leeds United project, which they all appear to be. Having an inferiority complex about your own club, all this talk that other clubs would serve these players' ambitions better - it's not good. Let's see where the season takes us first, instead of worrying we'll be losing half the squad next summer. It's only October ffs.
Just a discussion. I’m not worried about it in the slightest. Football clubs buy and sell players all the time. If they go, it likely helps us strengthen the whole squad… we move on.
Fair point Forza. However you have to plan ahead, for example Villa had spent most of the Grealish money before it arrived. That's essentially what we're discussing, it's not so much about a player leaving but more how will £100+ million improve the team as a whole. Nothing negative about that in my opinion...it's how we'll bridge the gap to the top 4 and become a major force again.
Spot on Essex. Infact the "DISCUSSION" about selling of our new signings started last season and they were only a wet day at the club. Firstly we need to stay in this League, then we should start getting players in who would completment our star players, then build that fecking 55000 capicity.
That's the model when you've been bought out by Saudis, Qataris etc. Just not feasable for us unless I've somehow misunderstood the last 20 years or so.
So that's what they mean when they say Elland Road is going cashless! Everyone in their overdraft after buying a ticket
"Realistically, expansion has to be done. The waiting list for season tickets is massive (more than 20,000) and Leeds think that with a stadium twice the size, they can bump their annual revenue over £250 million". I suppose that also means sponsorship, shirt sales etc (which is close to 300,000)
