Everyone is entitled to an opinion mate and I respect yours... but I do disagree with it ... the club did it's homework in bringing in Brenda and I was unsure about how it might go ... his Swansea team came to ours and we couldn't get the ball off them ... he came within a whisker of the title at Liverpool and that team played some lovely stuff.... but the Celtic stint was not really that convincing, at least notwhen they were outside of the domestic one horse race, so I was hopeful more than expectant... but he's delivered the trophy that had always eluded us ... so I trust the Board's judgement ... I also don't think he'll go ... think he'll succeed Pep at Citeh in a couple of years.
Really? Doesn't strike me as a very City signing, especially to replace Guardiola. They'll want to either go for someone with a club connection, like Kompany or sign a big name. Carrying on with some stability or making a statement. I don't see that as being Rodgers, unless he does really, really well in the meantime.
For all of 5 minutes, as we have the resources to bounce straight back up again. Not plummett down the leagues
The Mirror ran a story about the Citeh possibility... could even see him in the frame for the United job should they give Ole the push ... just don't see him gambling on the Toon job at this point in his career ... he was very complementary about your lot whilst making it clear that he was very happy where he was and in it for the long term ... but Citeh and United are up there with the biggest jobs in football.
He seems to agree with me: "I think when you manage Liverpool that Manchester United job is gone," Rodgers said. He does strike me as a bit of a bullshitter, though. You may be right.
In answer to your second point ... there are many excellent young coaches in Europe that would jump at the chance to manage in the Prem. Now offer them the chance to manage the club that has disrupted the Big 6 in the Prem, invested in one of the best training complexes in world football, is owned by people that are happy to back the manager in the transfer market, are expanding their ground capacity and has an amazing scouting network and I think we will have some tremendous applicants ... but as I maintain ... I really can't see Brenda leaving us for Newcastle... happy to be proven wrong.
I reckon this takeover has saved your club. Forget the massive money, but they have been flirting with relegation for a while. Same as we did, it was only a matter of time till it got us. But this should be enough to get you through this season. Then I'm dreading the future.
Bit different though isn't it. Fulham had a championship team and chucked 100m at it (and almost survived), we've finished 10-13th for four seasons in succession. Our current first team are already good enough that we shouldn't be getting relegated, extra spends will help though.
