Have a feeling Spurs will be the whipping boys at Newcastle. With the possible (?) change of managers, the players will be going all out. Pity it's a bit late for Mr.Bruce!
Saltypool fans mouthing off about Jenas on Twitter So which of their goals was patently offside this week?
On another day they batter us, even a 2-1 win wouldn't have done them justice for the domination they had in the 2nd half. That said, Mendy was superb - probably the best GK display I've seen since Tim Krul played out of his skin at WHL for Newcastle a few years back (can't remember the year). 2-0 up with 10 mins to go and losing 3-2. Delighted for Wolves, they are finally getting the points they deserve - never thought for a second they deserved to lose to your lot or United at Molineux but they just couldn't produce in the final third. He won't make it to Christmas at this rate. He's been given the softest fixtures imaginable, not played a single "big 6" team yet and he's already losing pace on City, Liverpool and Chelsea. There's only so long the apologists can blame Pogba and pretend Fernandes is a lot better than he actually is.
Lots of plaudits for Brentford at the moment. Of course deserved but given without reservation. What reservation? Well a number of teams have come into the PL and done very well initially - Blackpool, Sheff Utd, Leeds to name but a few. But will they be in the PL playing the same football in a couple of seasons? Let's see. Meanwhile praise them but for goodness sake let's not carried away. Again.
Said this before. I’m too old and long in the tooth to believe that a positive comment on a random football forum will have any bearing at all on the game. If you wish to believe that or play that game then fine, but it’s annoying that every time someone says something ‘positive’ that they’re told off
The mad thing is I wouldn't be surprised if he starts to pull results out the bag. We've seen it a few times with Ole where, just when you think he's on the precipice of being sacked, he starts to claw his way back from the edge. That being said, there does seem to be a very different feel about it this time around. 2 wins from their last 7 games, haven't played consistently well in any game so far this season and relying on glimpses of magic from their front line to bail them out. David de Gea seems back to his best, yet they are still struggling to get results. The expectations will have naturally risen amongst the fans with the signings of Varane, Ronaldo and Sancho. And let's not forget the sheer quality that already exists amongst that squad. I know reports are saying that Ole is safe for now, but if they don't turn their form around in the next 3-4 games, the atmosphere will turn toxic and The Glazers may be forced to make a decision.
