To be honest, there was a fair few of us saying that last season and still he's behind Wright in the pecking order. It's amazing that he hasn't had more of a look in, although Doyle and Flanno have been excellent.
Enjoyed that. The future is very bright, our young lads are physically much much stronger that what I've seen in comparison to previous seasons. They played some good stuff tonight. Wearne and Younger were excellent.
No real bad performances but Younger MOTM for me, he read the game really well and made numerous blocks/interceptions. Wearne was good but had just said to my son that he and Taylor had gone quiet, when BOOM. Pleased for 16yr old Johnson to get his 1 mi debut, bet he doesn't sleep tonight.
Enjoyed that, but watched it in mute. Just seen that Paul McShane was playing, how the **** did I miss that?
well, that turned out to be a very good game, younger and wearne in particular looking more and more likely to make the step up...but each and every one of the lads did themselves proud again. see a few chose younger for MotM and i agree with that, thought he was always there in defence and lost count of his blocks, well supported again by almond i have to add, hume looked far livelier this game and wanted to be involved more, looked as good as his old self...as i said earlier, keeping hold of these lads and keeping them all happy with game time is going to be tough but i hope we can persuade the better ones that there is a future here for them.
probably, like me, you presumed he retired years ago...he seems to have been playing longer than ronaldo.
I have to be honest, I didn't believe Johnson would bring about such a massive change in the spirit of the club ... ... watching these lads tonight was like a dream after what we've had to witness.
It was excellent to see. I've seen on Twitter that apparently we get 10 grand for winning the game but a 5 grand fine for the team we put out not meeting the rules. The development of these players is well worth it, same again against Bradford which will be a bigger test for them but a great learning curve.
Younger has never let us down , he was MoM until he went off injured on his debut at Fleetwood and has been outstanding in the U23,s every time I have seen him play. When Sanderson had to be left out of the first team last season, I thought Younger would have been the perfect replacement alongside O/9. I have wondered what he has to do to be given a chance, and the thought must cross his mind too, but it does not show in his play. The situation in the first team atm is that Doyle and Flanagan are on merit first choice, but if either are needed to be replaced, I hope LJ has a re-think and gives Younger his chance,as no one deserves it more imo.
Just back from the game, really enjoyed that. We do seem to has a style of play across the whole club which is good to see. A lot of good performances across the team, a good spirit and enjoyable to watch. The future is bright. The news on Embleton’s contract as well a good day for the club. Talk in the ground that Dan Neal will sign a long term contract next week or the week after as well.
Seemed to be their first visit to a football ground for loads of people. Wondering around staring at e-tickets on their phones expecting a map directly to their seats. Wake up people, plenty of signs to get you to where you need to be.
