Really? It had the highest temp it had ever had in Feb https://public.wmo.int/en/media/pre...ecord-antarctic-continent-and-rejects-another
The most Northerly Town in Norway was covered in lush vegetation in relatively recent geological terms. The ice up there is a relatively new thing.
I'm not sure if they're still viewable, but you used to be able to see the historic locations of the sites the temperatures were taken, and the techniques used, which leaves a fair degree of uncertainty in some of the figures quoted, as quite a few of the sites have moved, and many values have been interpolated from other data. Even some sites that haven't moved have seen the surrounding area change, which has an effect on the readings, without being truly representative of the regional temperature. It shouldn't be needed, but that's not to say I'm a denier, only that all data needs to be looked at closely, rather than taking things at face value, as things are often misrepresented. Even the 'experts' are sometimes not experts in a specifically appropriate field, and the findings of the experts are not always accurately represented in official documents.
Aye I was merely quoting the link that TOM shared (media headlines are even worse then poorly interpreted data!)
I'm not saying your a denier either but those are the arguments often put forwards by the deniers in blogs and on social media where as most of the peer reviewed Journals will point out they've corrected for that. Now don't get me wrong questioning facts is what Science is all about. And as a Capitalist and a Tory I'd love the climate change narrative to be wrong but I think the Science is now overwhelming. However, I will say I agree with Prince Charles in saying the way to raise awareness isn't tp glue yourself to a ****ing motorway. PS Did that post alienate EVERYONE LOL
I appreciate that you're not disagreeing with me, but just to be clear, I'm not saying the science is wrong, (it can't be, as science isn't a 'thing' it's a process) what I'm saying is that the presentation, and therefore the understanding of some of that information drawn from the scientific process is getting misinterpreted, and not just by the media, and therefore the public, it's also not understood by some of those tasked with fulfilling the agenda. A consequence is that it enables people with agendas outside of the actual issues to push measures that are not necessarily the appropriate ones to resolve the situation, because they're working from the wrong position.
It was quite interesting looking back at some of things he said as a young man, I know many think he's a pompous twerp, but much of what he said about architecture and climate change has come to pass. I also liked the fact that he runs his 50 year old Aston Martin on wine and cheese.
Pretty similar to what I run on. Although I imagine the Aston Martin gets higher quality where I get variety.
