    Match Preview;

    Until 1999, QPR and Fulham hadn't been in the same division since 1983, before that from 1971 to 1949 we were in separate divisions. They have been promoted twice and relegated twice over the past four seasons, with both promotions coming via the playoffs. Their top scorer in three of those four seasons has been Aleksandar Mitrovic, and he's already started this season well, with 10 goals in the first 11 games. Interestingly though, he has only scored 14 goals in 64 Premier League appearances.

    Fulham currently sit one place and two points above us, in 5th. They lost last time out, 4-1 to Coventry, and lost to Blackpool and Reading in September, also beating Birmingham and Swansea that month, and drawing with Bristol City. A win for either side on Saturday will surely help solidify a place in the top six, and it is still very early days, but good to be in the mix no matter what stage of the season.
    This game is our first of five games in 13 days, and so a good chance to get some momentum going. My fear is that, as we have a few players return from injury and get back into the starting line up, the packed schedule is going to cause further injuries. Warburton and co are going to have to carefully manage the squad in the next few weeks to make sure we don't pick up too many injuries.

    From the official site;
    Team News:

    QPR: Lee Wallace, Sam Field and Charlie Owens will all miss out for the R’s, whilst Sam McCallum is edging closer to a return.

    Fulham: Tom Cairney looks set to return for Fulham.

    Pre-match talk:
    John Eustace (QPR Assistant Manager): “It’s a local derby which is fantastic, the most important thing though is we impose our style of football on them and see where that gets us, it’s an exciting game for everyone and we are really looking forward to it.

    I think Fulham have 8 players on international duty compared to our five. Hopefully that gives us a small advantage.

    This one should be included in the memorable games, May 1983 when we beat them 3 -1 to become 2nd Division Champions.........

    Ffs marvelous. Wilson came through unscathed for Wales unfortunately, now if Mitrovic can just pick up a knock for Serbia !

    I know what you mean mate. Personally I think the odds are against us, but in the games after the last international break Fulham lost away in a lack lustre performance to Blackpool 0-1. We were away to Reading and got a 3-3 draw after being 3-1 down, with Johansen scoring in injury time. It felt like a win.
