Wouldn't have Thompson at RB - his strengths are in the centre of defence IMO. Hmm - bye bye Mirfin time?

Still think Hodson over Doyley should be tried - a better attacking full back from what I've seen, with more ability on the ball. Doyley reminds me of some of the classier FB's from our 3rd/4th division days!

I struggle to understand this campaign to get Dyche out. Here we are with just under a point per game - not good but not very dissimlar to Aidy's last 12 months and MM's last 6 - were those crying for SD's head now also demanding changes then?

We are almost exactly in the position that most of us thought we would be - struggling in or near the relegation area. Has anyone forgotten we lack money - we have a manager who was 3rd string not long ago - wh? - because we cannot afford to pay top salaries and cannot spend to compete with other clubs. What did you guys think Dyche could achieve. I thought we all agreed 4th from bottom this season would be a success.

A change of manager will cost a fortune - compensation to SD, possibly to a club for their manager and inevitably a higher salary for the incoming plus new players which any new manager would demand.

If one of those jumping on the anti SD bandwagon can give a sensible scenarion for a post SD world then please tell me about it as it eludes me.

It is not just SD that needs to improve, the players need to do their bit, one thing that continues to irritate me on match days is the constant glances up to the top left of the Rouse to smile and wave at family and friends.
Do that in the warm up, get your game face on and FOCUS on playing the game.
That is not just aimed at Scott but pretty much all of them who do it just before the whistle is blown.

I would also suggest that they ban twitter for a bit as some of the comments suggest that they are not that fussed at the results so long as they get their Nandos, new F50's, BlackBerry, Fifa 12 etc....

Well said Leonardo, a lot of sense being talked. I am in the camp of giving a manager time, especially considering our squad is good enough to stay in this division. A problem is that Dyche doesn't know his first XI, we have so much more depth then last season, and unlike everyone on this board, the majority of our new signings have shown glimpses that they can do something at this level (yes, even Iwelumo!). Just take the centre of midfield, we have Eustace, Hogg, McGinn, Bauben, Jenkins, and then coming through the likes of Murray and Mingoia. Apart from that, we also have an odd style of lumping it to two strikers who aern't target men (Garner and Sordell), something I believe Dyche can sort out.

We do have the skill to stay up, I haven't been able to go to a lot of games this season, but I have been to Burnley away, Reading away and Birmingham at home, and from those three games we can stay up.

If Garner had not hit the post against Palace, and it had gone in, then we possibly would have won the game, giving everyone a completely different look to our season. The time for action is not October concerning a managers position, its in around December.

I am not a big fan of loan players as I think their inclusion in the team tends to paper over the cracks. There is enough talent and experience in the present squad to compete in this league and it is upto Sean and his team to get them playing as a unit and winning games.
No one expected this to be an easy season and most would settle for a finishing spot out of the botton three. We have not been cast adrift and there are still 34 games to go so plenty to play for and no need to panic just yet!
Having said this Sean has not convinced me to date that he is upto the task - the poor quality football, poor tactics and team selection, constant references to 'men and boys', some dubious signings, reluctance to play our 'emerging talent' and 'Harry Basset Manager' post match interviews - all of which does not leave me with much hope.

As emiatss said, a lot of sense finally being talked on this thread. Good to see. More time needed, definitely. But changes need to be made, either in squad, tactics or both. I still don't rate Hodson, but perhaps BB is right, in his comfy position it could be different. I wouldn't be willing to swap him for Doyley yet though. Doyley is consistent. Yes, he makes mistakes, but nobody is more committed. I'd be reluctant to take him out the team. I did rate Thompson, but like with the other kids, i'd keep him on loan for now. We do have a team that can play, we just have to get them playing as a team. Then we'll be okay. But fingers off the panic button guys, it's way too early.

I know everything is not all rosy! But we are not adrift at the bottom of the League, it would be different if there was only 12 games to go and we were bottom and had to win the majority of the games to stay up! We still have plenty time left:)

I completely agree...such a panic, completely unwarranted. We all knew it was going to be tough..it is, so let's just get behind the Manager and the team and get on with it! I really can't be doing with all that negativity.
