You beat me to it. Also the Zebra crossing is a cultural institution. Will the Abbey Rerd crossing be getting this? I doubt it!
I just noticed that HDM announced that we were getting this nudge crossing back in June 2020, it seems to have changed a bit since then... please log in to view this image
Crossing the road was something that people were taught or learnt back in the days of old, maybe someone could invent an app.
You never heard of SPI B, one of the Groups in Sage Dennis ? there speciallity was nudging, blackmailing, coercing people. Hers a paper from them in April 21 https://www.gov.uk/government/publi...-reduce-sars-cov-2-transmission-22-april-2021 also https://assets.publishing.service.g...oural-science-in-the-coronavirus-outbreak.pdf and https://evidencenotfear.com/how-sage-and-uk-media-created-fear-in-the-british-public/ Any way enough of covid already, can we all agree these new proposed crossings look a mess ?
The zebra crossing arrows direct pedestrians to pass on the right of each other. You'd assume they follow the same rules as for car users?
The markings for motorists are precisely to standard. If you can’t understand them, you would need to ask yourself why. And, ironically, walk next time. When you might appreciate the new clear crossing markings.
I wonder how they're going to measure how effective they are? No-one gets run over in a week? A month?
What standard would that be? As far as I am aware there is no other line across a carriage way which is half white and half yellow.
Maybe I need to get out of bed in a morning, but I'm yet to see a bike in a bike lane. Not wishing to break the no polly rule. My uncle, not long gone, once told me that the pinko, closet right-on, socialists hate car drivers. I often wondered what he meant. Now I know for sure.
Saw these today, ****ing awful. Nearly as bad as the dodgy crossing points on Newland Ave that no-one ever stops at and pedestrians just step out into the road.
