How the **** did he wing that one? You aren't buying the club and you can stick that 305m up your arse if you want to remove the Sports Direct sign? Not a very good look on your negotiators if they can't even win that one ffs.
Don't resort to these types of replies Saff, it's unbecoming. The financial side of it is complete nonsense, I just don't see the arguments that people are making about Everton and QPR. It's like walking into any discussion and using a talking point that makes no sense for me.
The QPR and Fulham comparisons are silly. They had one big transfer window, maybe two and done it without putting everything in place to support the potential progression. Everton is more of a realistic comparison. Them guys have some serious clout but I've always said spending money is an art. That's why I've always defended Pep at City. Anybody can go out and spend big money but to spend it wisely and then turn that into a winning formula isn't easy to do.
For the record, not seen much of those comparisons on Not606, just from some of the odd clueless fellas on boards. I guess I come from it from a different perspective because I look at Everton and say "Yes ****ing please?" they have a reactive ownership, a communicative board, they are active every window and look to improve, they attract managers. It's harder for them as they're a smaller team in the same city of a global brand of a club in Liverpool, I also think Moshiri is still a bit small scale, he doesn't seem to be putting the people in place who can make intelligent decisions. But, what £450M in 5 years, they've had Carlo Ancellotti, now Benitez are fifth and got to watch James Rodriguez? We are in the bottom three with Jonjo Shelvey as our genuinely best midfielder. If Everton spend poorly, then what the ****.
The football lads are talking, Sucky. I'll be with you in a bit. It's already been explained to you that managing big egos and coaching a team into winning tactics isn't an easy thing to do regardless of the quality of player. You won't ever get it, though
Whats to get, 50m player dont work out, bin him & buy another one, that one dont work out no worries, bin him & buy another one, rinse & repeat. Next youll be telling me he improved sterling
This is a massive part of it. Sunderland actually spent quite a bit at times in the premier league but there was never any reasoning to any of it and most of the deals we done were shocking. Just randomly buying players and giving them big wages with no plan in place. We never had a style of football or an identity at the club that could be continued if players or managers started to fall short of what was required. We have all that now. Just in the ****ing 3rd division
Its no fun when youre out of sight of your local rivals tho mate, when all they can hope for is a midtable finish & someone else to beat you in a season.
