Hello. I've been following the discussions on this board for a while, and enjoy reading the posts here. Thought it was high time I signed up and introduced myself. First off, compliments to the resident mod. It's not easy getting the balance right, and we've all seen it when mods get it hideously wrong. So hats off to you H bomb. Keep it real. Been living in Korea for about 8 years (hence the username). Been a Bluebird since I was about 15, when my mate dragged me from Pencoed to Ninian Park. Did not want go at all, but am really glad I did! You can probably guess my age if I tell you that I remember chanting "who needs Cantona when we've got Stantona!" He didn't quite live up to the hype if I recall correctly, but it didn't matter. From that day on, I was a Bluebird. So that's me. Looking forward to some banter.
Wecome aboard mate , class player old Stanty, run through a brick wall for the team and then go back and smash another hole in it to let his team mates through, just for the hell of it We occasionally get some good banter going on here, although it seems to be getting a bit quieter recently (although I'm just as guilty as I've been on my jolly hols and am also using my lunch times to study at present ). Look forward to seeing your contribution and hearing what you think of things so far this year buddy
Thanks for the welcome guys. I used to read the old 606, but never joined in. I stuck around here cos i recognised some of the names. [i would put a 'thumbs up' emoticon here but i don't know how!] Brizzle, it's probably quiet cos, well, our form isn't that great at the moment. I'm not worried though. Some people expect too much, considering our squad had it's guts wrenched out at the end of last season. This season is not about promotion. It's about building a squad that understands each other. And of course, winning the Gargling Cup.
If I was in North Korea I probably wouldn't be allowed to reply to that. Korea's good but, sorry Aber, no weed. The penalties are very severe so most expats don't bother with it. You do get the odd plum (usually Canadian) who tries to get his friends back home to send some. They usually end up in jail, then deported. That's not to say there are no vices here. Soju is their most popular domestic beverage. It's 20% proof and costs 50 pence a bottle. More bottles of soju are drunk per year than any other drink in the world. Koreans know how to drink, so I have fitted in well! Also, prostitution makes up 5% of the GDP, so make of that what you will. Now let me try that thumbs up thing... woot! it worked!
Been off the board for a few days Korean and just catching up. Like the other idiots on here, I bid you a very fond welcome.
Not sure if there's a market for scrawny Welsh guys, but If there was I'd be a lot richer! Thanks again for the warm welcomes. Very kind of you all.
