Sorry to take you to task on Hjelde, Doc, but he's never played for Celtic! He was loaned out to Ross County last season & played about a dozen times.
Sorry WJ yes he played in the SPL for Ross, but was also named this season in Celtics CL squad, so in effect I jumped the gun because he was on target for playing first team for Celtic
To the original question, Should all Leeds players be immunised against Covid? Receiving the vaccine does not make you immune. Thus, should all Leeds players receive the vaccine to make them less vulnerable to severe infection, would probably be a better question. Each to their own, it is (supposedly) a free world.
Doc, great stuff as always Just a question, If we sign foreign players as kids does that do away with potential brexit transfer stuff in the future?
Same here. I used to love it, but it's just not the same anymore. That's why a lot of threads go off on a different tangent and non footy subjects are discussed.
I used to think it was a free world. Although you might still get covid after the jab, I think the symptoms aren't as severe. Taking the knee and wearing the Poppy(I've no problems with it) should also be up to the individual.
This is a great question because the reality is that the player should need to score 15 points to enable him to get a visa. However there are a few loopholes that Man City, Man Utd and Liverpool have used last summer. They bought 17yo kids from Spain, Brazil and Paraguay and in Man Citys case used one their own clubs as place to loan the player, guaranteeing him playing time and able to get enough points to get to Man City next season. There is also a student route to market (Leeds just building a new education block at TA) and the old chestnut of parents moving to the UK for work, so kid has to move too. There are other loopholes too, including proximity to a border
Agree about the efficacy of the vaccine, should footballers have to have the jab? I suppose it depends on their contract. If I had forked out tens of millions on a player then I would want a clause in there to say that the player should take care of themselves and follow medical advice etc. Then there will be the insurance companies wanting to make sure that the players don't become crook so they would have to pay out lots of money in compensation. They are young and healthy though and therefore the risk is low but...... If it was my investment then I would be asking them to get vaccinated and insisting if contractually I could. For a Joe Bloggs in the street as long as they have had the opportunity to get a vaccine and they have declined then that is there right. Here the Gov aren't mandating vaccination but it is being done by stealth as more and more employers are insisting you get a jab to enable you to work.
Our government aren't clever enough for stealth. Just the usual coercion in various forms. Classic one is needing to be inoculated to enter a night club. Next you'll no doubt need to be inoculated to be in Emergency Services, then public servants, ... ultimately leading to not getting into the pub! That's when the riots will really kick off. They've just been playing at it to date.
Riots this country no longer does riots. Full of do nothing moaners. Either that or glue themselves onto motorways. Pathetic really.
To busy with pulling statue's down and throwing them into Bristol harbour, for the wrongdoings of the slave trades of yesteryear forgetting or not wanting to know that according to the u.n. slavery is alive and kicking in Africa,Asia and the middle East..... where's that glue
Well they try to tell us that, but I don’t listen to that Lefty propaganda bullshit, otherwise my nut would explode
