Do you know if Brad Targett is related to Matt?

Not sure Badge, but Targett is a relatively common Sotonian surname I believe, there were a few brothers with that name at my school.
I believe it goes back to the Middle Ages when the local lord wanted to make archery practice more interesting. Only one family were quick enough to survive.

You had me going there for a second!...<laugh>
It does remind me that King Edward III banned football because it interfered with people's archery target practice!

Couldn't make it myself Gary but heard Dave Diaper's post match interview and he was saying that's the worst they have played this season but a narrow loss against a team from the division above is still pretty good.

Didn’t want to be too critical (unlike I am with Redders, I hear you say <laugh>) but they didn’t quite click. Had a couple opportunities in FH before their equaliser & conceded two sloppy goals. Haha, wtf do I know! First time I’ve seen them play <laugh> As I said tho, very close encounter. Very nice setup tho, vg atmosphere & general feel :emoticon-0148-yes:
Edit: Some crunching tackles, proper football. An absolute gem not to see any acting.

Are MSD the ones who we borrowed that insanely high interest loan from?

They are indeed. According to the charging document, the collateral is the substation site and other club-owned land on Melbourne St.

Just seen that the attendance was about 400, not bad for a tuesday night.

Did someone say they wanted a Canadian men's team update!?*

Canada's first game of three in the international window was a visit to Mexico's Estadio Azteca, which is one of the most daunting places in the world to play. Extreme altitude, and 80,000+ people screaming obscenities (it's now a consistent occurrence for matches to be stopped owing to persistent homophobic and racist chanting, and this one was no different) makes life difficult for even sides that have had success on the international stage, and as Canada is not such a side, they had not taken a point in a competitive match there since 1980. I, and many others, expected Canada to play fairly conservatively, saving the stars for the upcoming matches against Jamaica and Panama, and maybe trying to nick a goal on the break.

Naturally, Canada instead decided to deploy a high press, at 2200m, and (after surrendering an early goal) dominated much of the first half so thoroughly that the Mexican team was booed off at the interval. Canada tired late, but held on for 1-1 in a match where they had the better chances:

So that's now four of fourteen matches down, and Canada has yet to lose, including taking away points against each of the United States and Mexico. Half the team will be on yellow card suspensions for the away match in Jamaica, and the other half is probably a bit tired, but Jamaica has also looked terrible to date. And barring a late comeback by Panama against El Salvador, Canada will find themselves 3rd in the Octagonal...an automatic qualifying spot.

Fun note: to offset Mexico's homefield advantage, the return leg is being played in Edmonton. In November. Half of the country will be fairly temperate in mid-November, but Edmonton? It'll probably be 15 below.

*No one did. You're getting it anyway.

Che off with a knock for Scotland apparently. Armstrong still on the bench for now. And JWP starts for England.
