Horses in Training Sale - Backing them blind?

Wanted to run a thread until the HIT sale (25 to 28th October) - https://www.tattersalls.com/sales/autumn-horses-in-training-sale/4DCGI/Sale/AUT21/Main

Now, people have stated many times that horses improve and win races before going to the HIT sale. So why not take a look at this in action?

I have added all the horses into a list and running them through Proform - I am not backing these, but purely running it for interest. Will update with returns to SP and BSP after each day.

Excellent idea. Have for a long time wondered if there is a profitable system out there re horses running / entered in these sales. Now we will find out!

You do get a lot of withdrawls though as you get closer to the actual sales day so might be something to look out for as well - although I'm sure your brilliant brain can cope with such a thing.

 

A few years back The Queen withdrew entrants for this sale (as many owners do) and in the subsequent weeks several of them won.

 

Well there's Pied Piper for you. Nice price (just need a Royal double now: unlikely I know).

Not backing him but will be interesting to see how Tabdeed gets on this evening. On official ratings he should win with ease but there has always been the suspicion with him that he doesn't always put everything in and is a bit of a 'monkey'.

A win, ahead of the sales date, could to some extent silence these worries - especially if the win was as recent as last time out. A defeat though, especially in a race Tabdeed would be expected to win, would only make these doubts more vociferous.

Is certainly, one to look out for at the sale though as you would have to wonder if a change of scenery could really revitalise an animal like this. But is a 6YO gelding with a perch of 108 that attractive an option?!?

 

The HIT are up for the day after the first runner who won at BSP of 65.1. Crikey.

Tabdeed due to sold later today then. Intigued to see how much he goes for and am actually clueless as to what the amount will be. Is that sort of lot who you really wouldn't be surprised if he went for a little or a considerable sum! Big arguments can be made for why he could command a cheap fee (handicapped to the hilt, getting on in age, etc.) or even a very large one (Listed / Group 3 class, change of scenery could do wonders, better placing could bring rewards, etc).
