And there was me thinking that after dry January, Stoptober and all that malarkey that it should actually be called SIPtember.

Varies from year to year when I abstain.

I quite like that after Veganuary there is now Februdairy.

My advice Brizzle is to seek out Mr Appleton's special Jamaican medicine.

Sod all that nonsense. I'm sat in The Pier Charlesstown, Cornwall enjoying a large Merlot before dinner.

So it's an international break again and time to have a look at the table situation. With the exception of Coventry (all credit to them), the current top 6 is probably those that most would have predicted - it's the next 7 clubs that are doing my head in.

Huddersfield, Blackburn, Bristol, Reading, Millwall, Blackpool and Luton - FFS we should at least be competing with them instead of floundering just outside the trap door clubs.

Anything and everything is possible yet. From relegation or scrambling to avoid it, through mid table safety (which amounts to mediocrity in this division), or even a top 6 challenge. We should at least be able to compete with those 7 sides I listed just below the current playoff spots. 11 games gone means there's 35 to go - an awful lot can happen.

Let's hope the club, manager, playing staff and fans can come together and give us something to cheer about rather than moan.

    Completely agree Sparky.

Going beyond your list above, it's strange to think that it's not that long ago we saw the likes of Leicester, Wolves and Leeds as our direct competition, yet here we are looking up at clubs that traditionally we have "expected" to be superior to (no offence intended to any of the aforementioned clubs, the table generally never lies and each club earns their place).

The only hope we have, if we stand by Mick as it looks like we'll do, is that the much improved performance against Reading convinces him that we don't have to play safe all the time.
The hammerings we've taken against Blackburn and West Brom may yet prove to be a positive influence in the longer run as Mick's pragmatism came massively unstuck on both occasions.

We'd all love to see a switch to something like 4-3-1-2 or similar.
Let's just hope the coaching team feel that now other teams have "worked us out" a complete switch to attacking, pressing football is on the cards.
Doesn't even have to be tippy, tappy nonsense, let's just work hard, press and get forward with some urgency for the remainder of the season and see where it takes us.

Unashamedly apologetic to state I’m definitely glass half empty with the current state of the football club and it’s lamentably pathetic board.
McCarthy and Connor are well past their sell by dates.
APOEL fans must be wondering what on earth possessed City to bring him in.
But they don’t know Dalman knows less about football than my next door neighbours cleaners cat.
So we’ve got no chance of doing anything other than struggle in this seasons Championship.
