Nah JWP’s was much worse in my opinion, came in from behind and on the ankle.

In fairness to Ramsay his feet were pretty low and I think he won the ball, albeit only seen one angle.

Thought it was reckles tbh. Romero was lucky not to get a nasty injury.

Lucas has been poor so far. Giving the ball away all over the pitch.

Clever by Kane. Bought the foul and a booking for Ramsey.

I think you’re seeing the difference in this half. Skipp and Højbjerg are working more as a pair and alternating when they go forward and Tanguy has more freedom at 10.

Good half, better than we’ve seen the last few games. Hopefully we can get Kane in the game a bit more now.

Reguilon’s had a really good game so far. Defended brilliantly with three headers and when he’s had the chance he’s gotten forward nicely.

He’ll score an own goal in the second half and get sent off though now I’ve said that.

Emerson also pretty good, as was Son.

Reguilon, Emerson, Pierre and Son all excellent that half. Didn't stop running and all put in a battling performance.

Skipp has been good albeit a couple of naive moments, chief of which was his yellow card.

Lucas and Tanguy struggling to get in the game which is a massive concern as it means Kane is yet again feeding off scraps and Son plus the two CMs are having to pick up twice the workload.

Really liking the look of Romero. Has a tendency to drop deeper than his line and play attackers onside, but is so composed on the ball and his timing is generally excellent. Quite the opposite to Sanchez in that regard.

I'd keep things as they are for now but if Lucas and Tanguy continue to struggle on the periphery, I hope Nuno changes things up. This Villa team are no mugs, 1-0 simply isn't enough.

The only time we really seem to show a distinct style of play is when we're countering. It's early days for Nuno but difficult to see what the plan is for 90 minutes, we can't go 100mph all game. Great finish from Hojbjerg and you feel it's going to be individual quality like that, that carries us if we do win today. Understandably we look low on confidence and nervous, feel like Villa will try and take advantage of that second half but it may suit us, or we may just implode.

What the **** was that booking for Skipp though? Great tackle. See, signature.

Could practically repeat this line for just about all of their games this season so far.

Not that I’m his biggest fan anyway but Lo Celso can feel hard done by not starting over Ndombele today. I’d happily have Gil in for Lucas too, the latter isn’t getting any better and he’s only ever been a decent squad option at best, invest time in Gil now and see where it takes us.

Free kick deep inside their half to almost conceding, in the space of 6 seconds.

Do we even practice set pieces?

Kane really and rightly pissed off with Ndombele. Lack of vision for a real break opportunity.

In fact, we're just carrying Ndombele. He needs replacing - and quick.

Some good stuff from Emerson again, been his best game for us so far.
