Yesterday's Burnley v Norwich game was Sean Dyche's 400th as Burnley manager/head coach, spanning nearly nine years. I sometimes wonder "What if...?"

I've seen many dismiss his teams as uninspiring, boring, crude, hoofballers etc etc - and yes, they did hand Norwich their first point/clean sheet of the season yesterday, but I'd find it hard to believe that any of the performances in those 400 games were as bad as the dross we served up yesterday. Just sayin'...

Well even if he’d stayed he would have got sacked after the first poor run of results as that is how the Pozzos work.

And I think the fans weren’t that fused Dyche left either really at the time as Zola came in.

That and other changes have worked ok to some extent even though guess like Munoz potentially Zola’s time ran out.

I take your last point, but counter with FA Cup semi, Leicester play-off semi, Liverpool, Man U and many more where we have been outstanding and played breathtaking football....would we have ever scored that Huddersfield goal with about 30 passes.? Yesterday was rubbish, but there have been many highs, and man lows, but not sure I would want to watch the Dyche brand of football week in week out, however effective it is or isn’t.
I hope we can pull it together, I don’t think Pozzo will want to go down again, so maybe they will appoint an experienced coach should they decide to pull the trigger - they will surely be drawing up a list of possibilities as we speak I feel

History suggests that Gino will already have such a list - the grass never seems to grow under his feet.

To be honest, I've never had a problem with Dyche's brand of football. For me, his detractors rank up there with the journalists and pundits who branded GT's style as 'long ball' and even Aidy's as 'hoofball' - both ridiculous and unwarranted claims. Neither style was for the purist but they both provided entertainment & excitement - until teams worked out how to counter them. Dyche's teams at Burnley have been similar from what I've seen of them, sometimes hot, sometimes cold, never for the purist - but always working and trying hard, not something that can be said about us under the likes of QSF, Silva, Mazzarri and Ivic etc - imo even Beppe's style was more entertaining than those.

I'm realistic enough to recognise that what is generally viewed as success is unlikely to ever come our way, so I redefine the term to mean remaining in the top flight rather than being a yo-yo club or worse - which is what recent performances suggest we will become.

On the subject of Dyche I just wonder how he'd fare if he had better players as his dosposal? I think he does exceptionally well with what he has to work with which, to be frank, is not in the same class as the players we have at our disposal: he does create a team ethic and a synergy which keeps them up.

One thing Dyce has in an abundance is common sense. That alone would rule him out of the Watford job, that and the compensation Burnley would require.

On reflection over the first games of the season, where we have been allowed to play Munoz's style of football we have had some success but when faced with teams that energetically shut us down and harry us thus stopping out method of play we make mistakes, loose the ball a lot and don't have a plan B. Yesterday was the worst example of that and we were lucky with 1-0 although that might indicate we have a good defense with committed players at the back. Sarr had a bad game yesterday and he and Kiko were on different wavelengths for some reason.

I am sorry to see Munoz go, he seemed a nice guy, seemed to get on well with the players but I guess he was a bit nieve and on a steep learning curve in the Prem. I hope he has benefited from his experience with us and I wish him well.
