Tough one for me but ill go Emmanuel Big Tom Klp But all the lads did great today....thanks city you've made my day
Emmanuel - considering how little this lad has played it was absolutely phenomenal performance. Brilliant. Ingram - kept us in it with some outstanding goalkeeping like so ofter this season. Bernard - marvellous game. Hard to pick 3. KLP - for his goal and for adapting so well to unusual demands. Smallwood - put in a fantastic shift doing the dirty work. Great to have a choice. There were a lot of positives even if we needed a fluke goal and crap refereeing to get us three points McCann out!
Bernard Smallwood Cannon eaves Emanuel even tho Cannon is a bit lightweight he tackled and closed players down so well raised my opinion of him , thought Moncur struggled and he’s normally decent . Thought our tackling and will to win as great .
Ingram, kept us in the game. Emmanuel, looked bright going forward & defending, although did get lost towards the end of the first half. Greaves, though I thought him & Bernard were pretty much the same rating, I just liked the way Greaves moved forward with the ball.
Ingram Eaves Bernard As we walked back I heard a boro fan say how good Ingram was. Daft lad of a City supporter said, “he’s usually ****”… **** me, I couldn’t believe it.
KLP was magnificent in the second half and my MOTM. The rest of the team, subs included deserve a vote each because this was very much a magnificent team effort. Everyone put a shift and a half in. Eaves made his mark and left it on every one of the boro back four. Smallwood played as though his life depending on it, Also a mention to every one of the City crowd present today who made the effort to go and support the team. I thought our vocal backing was superb especially during the last ten minutes when we were under the cosh. Happy days. UTT.
Ingram Bernard Emmanuel Special mention for Shaun M coming on...he's not had many minutes but came on today and looked like he's always been playing there week in week out. Fantastic effort all-round. Grant and the players have set the bar now!
Ingram McLoughlin... tough ask to finally get his chance, and then totally out of position. Very solid KLP in terms of adapting to playing LB and occasionally RB/CB. Still almost scored the winner
Ingram Eaves Bernard Difficult to choose. Certainly could have had 2 sets of top 3 this week. No one let us down today. We played as a team. UTT
He did very well. So well, I forgot we’d made that change early on. The team were all excellent. Hard to find fault with any of them. I like Cannon - like the graft he brings to midfield.
Forgive this and discount if inappropriate but only saw 2nd half, but from what I saw ; 1. Emmanuel.. real bundle of energy and took his chance to remind the manager he is a player. 2. Ingram .. pulled off a couple of fine saves and seemed determined to keep that clean sheet. 3. McClauglin .. looked really assured for his first performance in a while. Also thought Eaves, Canno and Smallwood did well, and KLP was back to something like his best Also after the grief I've given McCann credit to him for finally acknowledging his preferred shape wasn't working and changing it, that may have been due to the usual suspects being unavailable but at least he threw the dice and came up with something different, and look what's happened.
Agreed. Considering they've lacked game time, I thought Emmanuel and McLoughlin did very well today. Both looked very composed and gave solid performances. If I had one nit-pick, it would be Moncur. I don't think he played bad, but considering it was pissing it down and we were against a typical ****house Warnock team, it wasn't the best game for his style of play. Moncur's probably one of our more technically-gifted players, but those neat first touches and sharp turns were always gonna be difficult to pull off in those conditions. I thought we looked far more dangerous and aggressive to loose balls when Docherty came on.
