Well I call box seat being less than 3 points behind with game(s) in hand. Or being 2nd and only needing to match the results of those behind us! I’d still take second this season. Happily to get out of this league

We were quite simply awesome last night. It could easily have been double figures. The passing and movement was a joy to watch. Huggins was brilliant, we bossed the midfield and our front two ran them ragged. Delighted that Dajaku opened his account too.

I couldn't work out if they were crap or I was watching Brazil. <laugh>

Walking through the Sheepfolds to St Peters Metro, the crowds were still chanting. It was great to see the positivity back after all the ****e we've been through. Well done Lads!

Just to finish off what I posted yesterday about which years we had a Scot in the squad:-

1930 - 1946 Alex Hastings (LH) (Guested for Hartlepool during the War Years)
    1946 - 1947 David Lindsay (RB)
    1948 - 1949 Thomas Dougall (RW)
    1950 - 1951 Bob Cunning (LW)
    1951 - 1955 John McSeveney (LW)
    1953 - 1958 Joe McDonald (LB)
    1959 - 1967 Nick Sharkey (CF)
    1966 - 1979 Sir Bobby Kerr (MF)
    1979 - 1986 Gordon Chisholm (CH)
    1985 - 1989 Frank Gray (LB)
    1989 - 1992 Kieron Brady (LW)
    1993 - 1995 Derek Ferguson (MF)
    1996 - 2001 Alex Rae (MF)
    2002 - 2006 Kevin Kyle (CF)
    2007 - 2012 Craig Gordon (GK)
    2012 -2016 Steven Fletcher (CF)
    2016 -2019 Donald Love (RB)
    2018 - 2021 Chris McGuire (RW)
    Now Ross Stewart (CF)

    That's All Folks!!!!!!!

Might sound daft but I think we should be scouting their keeper, Flinders ...

... make some great saves, was brave and I liked his attitude.

Well what a performance! Probably the most dominant I’ve seen from Sunderland in a long long time.

Broadhead was outstanding and really deserved a goal. His dummy for the second and his pass to McGeady for the 3rd were simply sublime.

good run outs for dajaku and Huggins had a class game as well.

good to see we now have done serious strength in depth and the players know that if they get into the first 11 they have to perform as others are waiting.

    long may it continue.

as it stand we have no one to fear in this division. Everyone will be fearing us though.

My worst ever was Sheff Utd ...

... picked up near Meadowhall, got as far as the roundabout at Wetherby before we jumped out of the minibus and legged it <laugh>

Dead right mate, no one will realise how naïve Cheltenham were, it's the result that counts ...

... everyone will be wary and that gives us a slight edge.

We've sold out Portsmouth and the supporters will be full of it which, again, helps the team.

Confidence and momentum are difficult to build but, once you have it, things just get that little bit easier.

My early memories include a team with Fraser, Aitken and Fleming down the middle all Scots IIRC. dare say a lot more could be added to that list.

Still dreadful with more pain than yesterday, I'm afraid . . . . I'm going to have to be a very patient patient :emoticon-0101-sadsm

On the bright side, my team strolled to a 5-0 win last night and I'm feeling jolly good overall :1980_boogie_down:

I've done a good job of derailing this thread, mind (<sorry> RTB) and I'm hoping that I'll be forgiven for this one

From having a pint with a couple of the cuddly toys off here to watching our sublime performance the whole night was brilliant.
My only concern(possibly not the correct word) is who the f*ck does LJ play on Saturday. Can you leave out Broadhead or Dajaku? Neil & Embers have been brill but nobody's place is safe imo.

It sounds like a nasty one. I can only wish you well, mate.

Are you allowed visitors or is that still not allowed because of Covid?

My mate did virtually the same, he took his helmet off while he removed his jumper and put it on the handle bars ant it fell down into the wheel, let’s just say he didn’t look as handsome as you do.<laugh>
