So this FFP thing just how much could a new owner invest? Is it not restricted to 30 million over 3 years?
As much as I hate to be the bringer of bad tidings , we're not getting new owners. Don't shoot the messenger
Some alleged Turk, with an alleged net worth of 100 mill. quid is willing to spunk out 20-30 mill. for a shakey asset that is a football club on a downward spiral? Anyone actually seen the alleged interview on video, or read the original transcript in Turkish of said interview that was (maybe?) translated by the HDM? I don't think so. Anyone willing to invest in such an asset would not be announcing such a transaction at this (or prior stages) of the deal. Mind boggling speculation. Trusting the veracity of the vendors and alleged purchasers is folly.
Clearly the one named is Turkish. Proof he is interested in buying is alleged. Where is the ratified definitive evidence?
I thought everybody had gone and watched this when he said it, the fact there are people saying it's hearsay is mind boggling. Aside from him openly saying he's trying to buy us, what more evidence do you need that he's trying to buy us? He's been to see the facilities, he and members of his consortium were at the Sheff U game, the time for "this is bullshit" is long gone. Whether or not he's successful remains to be seen, but the Allams see this guy as the one they want to sell to, so much so that (as HT2 as mentioned already) Assem has been the one negotiating it, not Ehab (who did the Greive/Lee bids). Negativity based on the past is fair enough, but this is legitimately as close as the club has actually been to being sold for a long time.
I've read the translated version...Seems strange that it's only one source and early in the process. A leak? Non disclosure agreements exist?
NDA means he can't disclose the nature of the deal, he can still tell people he's trying to buy it. I'll find out this week if he's paid a deposit, if he has, it'll be pretty much done because he won't be pulling out after that.
GEvans has an amusing habit of, if all else fails, bring up distance as a factor for why he's right and I'm not in any discussion. Like clockwork.
Plenty of potential buyers have sat with the Allams in the directors box, they wrote a fond farewell in the program, one buyer paid a large non returnable deposit are just a few of the dead certs we've had so far. Don't go counting your chickens.
