And their second goal was from a foul. Appalling performance and it shouldn't take away from that, but...
3-1 FT. Absolutely appalling. Shameful stuff from a lot of the players and a bunch of poor decisions from the manager. His 4-3-3 doesn't work and it's clear for everyone to see that. Pawson and co can **** off, too.
Absolutely disgraceful performance, we made Woolwich look a half decent side. ENIC, Lewis and Levy out. Blofeld, please close the door behind you on the way out.
We were absolute **** but if Pawson and VAR had done the jobs correctly it would be 2-2 , totally undeserved, but a draw nevertheless.
Wasn’t happy with most of the second half, and how we managed the game, mainly because we set back and were allowing you to come at us. Thought we got lucky with White’s challenge on Kane, probably should have been a penalty. And Xhaka should have been booked much earlier. I don’t think we had too many big decisions go our way aside from those, though. Frankly, for most of the game, your players didn’t do enough and didn’t deserve anything from that. I know a lot of you said you wanted to see an improvement from the loss in March, and I felt there would be too - especially after losing 3-0 to Chelsea - but I don’t think that happened. That first half especially was abominable. We’re by no means out of the woods yet either, but i see very little difference between Nuno and Mourinho. If your players sense that too, then it’s only a matter of time before the inevitable.
3-1 flatters us and that was genuinely one of the worst performances I can remember. At least against Chelsea we were in the game for a half. What’s becoming increasingly clear to me is that firstly Skipp is key to us having a stable midfield, Højbjerg follows the ball to much to anchor on his own and none of the more attacking midfielders work hard enough to compensate. Secondly Gill also looks like he’s worth trying more to make something happen. None of the starting XI players can feel anything except shame after that one and yes, while there were elements of luck in the scoreline being what it was at the end, ultimately the best teams legislate against luck by being good enough so that poor refereeing or lucky breaks of the ball don’t matter. We are miles, nay aeons away from that. It’s so frustrating that for the last 15 mins we played faster and looked like scoring a couple vs the rest of the game where we were ponderous and without Skipp, utterly porous in midfield. I’ve been all for giving Nuno half a season so we can see his true colours and see if he can sort this mess out, because it is a mess, and the rebuild needed over the summer was major. Serious work clearly still needs to be done. But I’m increasingly sceptical that he’s the man to get it done. Some wounds to lick and some serious looking in the mirror to be done after that shower, that’s for certain.
Re the comparison with Ramos... Wrong appointment but some memorable matches even now, 13 years on. Not results but matches...exciting, nerve wracking matches. In the last year I can not remember the last time I watched an exciting spurs game other than the Everton FA cup game. That is unacceptable. **** me ... we were **** under pleat but some of the matches had you on the edge of your seat. I can not abide boring dross...and that is what we have been for a long time. Back to our DNA ?
Honestly don’t know what managers see sometimes, I know you get the old well they’re the ones with the coaching badges, we’re just fans but that makes thr incompetence even worse! how has he not yet realised dele alli has been irrelevant as a footballer for about 2 years now? Or that tanguy is not good enough in a 3 and doesn’t even seem to care. Tuchel made one sub last week and nuno didn’t have a clue! How anyone can think a midfield 3 of all dms is needed against anyone, let alone palace? Not many managers about at the moment but anyone who can see the simplest of things, have the balls to tell a few thanks but no thanks and breathe a bit of life in to the players would be a good start.
Regardless of what Ramos done overall, the man knew how to win big games. Ledley King even said to me that Ramos would plan to every fine detail of what to do in big games yet more or less expected us to stroll to a win against smaller sides (and look how that panned out). Nuno ain’t got a scooby what he’s doing, Kane and Son are starved of service, persists with ****cunts like Dele and Ndombele, plays EVEN WORSE than Jose - who actually got Kane and Son playing phenomenally, he just couldn’t get the rest of the team to do that - Nuno’s not got one player excelling in his style and he’s sucking the life out of the fans in the process.
I appreciate you being magnanimous after you basically kicked our ass! One of the best rival fan posters on the site
Would have hidden the extent of the problem ... just like the wolves game and the Watford games did. We were woeful, as we were in the 2nd half v Wolves on Wednesday, the 2nd half v Chelsea, the second half v Palace the first leg v Pacos Fierra (excuse spelling), the match in France and big parts of the Wolves game in the league. There has been NO improvement in performances, chances created or tactics imho. I don't see the point in ditching Nuno as Levy will simply make yet another poor choice. I would love to see this turn around but we are unwatchably boring.
