Safe standing is back: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/59206130 Why have the first game as a Liverpool fixture, though? Understandably a touchy subject for a number of their fans.
I've always wanted the return of standing, my only worry is I think it's coming back at the wrong time. With what appears an increase in recent disturbances at some games, I'm not sure I trust some fans to behave themselves.
I’m all for standing. The more of it the better IMO. Wonder what will happen in seated areas now though. Will the old gits get even grouchier when someone dares to stand for a millisecond instinctively?
The all seater stadiums killed a little bit of the game when they came in. Hopefully this will restore it again. If you're in a standing area though, then you can't really complain when somebody stands up
I was thinking of when it’ll be acceptable to stand in a seated area. I’m conscious of those around me and rarely do if I’m not near the back but wonder what the etiquette will be.
It doesn’t make any difference to standing in seated areas imo. It’s a no, unless you’re away from home then it becomes standard for some reason.
I don’t mean persistently. Obviously when a goal goes in everyone is up so just wondering what the acceptable line becomes between only standing for goals and standing throughout.
People just stand up for the exciting bits, don't they? Nobody stood up at all during yesterday's game between us and Everton, for example.
It remains unacceptable imo, kids, old boys and women who sit in their seats every home game shouldn’t be forced to peer over shoulders because safe standing in specific areas has been introduced. If people want to stand get a spot in the safe standing section, otherwise sit down.
