Absolutely awful performance from Joshua, quite what his team thought those tactics were is beyond me. He didn’t land a power shot until right at the end of the 4th & it shook Usyk, he then won the next 2 rounds and shook him with a number of single shots. But not once did he follow them in, I don’t think he landed a power combination in the entire fight. The AJ of old rocks him and then steams in swinging, he might take a couple to land a few but he puts that bloated cruiser weight on his arse. Last night he spent 12 rounds plodding behind the jab ffs, it was ****ing terrible. I nearly smashed my Telly when they’re listening in to the trainers instructions before the start of the 10th, by this point he needs a knockdown to win for me, and there’s that stupid **** telling him to stay behind the jab and counter. No, you ****ing idiot he needs to get in the trenches and slug it out with the ****er, as otherwise he’s lost his belts. A truly awful night for AJ, Usyk did exactly what I expected he’d do, box well and be awkward and well done to him for seeing it through. The first thing AJ & Hearn need to do today is launch that trainer into a ****ing skip.
Nah, I swerved it in the end, something was telling me to leave it & I did. Good job as well ffs, as I’d have been raging. I was angry enough just watching the insipid ****e he put up without having a chunk of my kids inheritance on him
Joshua and his trainer have disappeared up their arses and thought they could just Jab their way through 12 rounds.
Exactly. Not against a guy who was always going to be the better boxer, it was truly dumb. The way to win that fight was for him to bully Usyk with his weight and power advantage, push him around, make him feel the power shots early and then level him with a combination when the opportunity arose. Instead he stood off him all night & gave him vital recovery time when he did hurt him, as he didn’t follow in the single shots. It was so obvious what was going wrong, yet his corner offered him nothing but more of the same. The worst AJ performance ever for me, even worse than Ruiz who he took lightly, as he was a fat, no mark, late stand in & he thought it would be an easy night. He had an excuse that night but he didn’t last night, he just got it completely wrong.
Joshua has gone on the wrong direction.. He's all about power and should be aggressive. He's a bit chinny, so they're trying to just jab their way through fights.. He should've stayed well clear of Uysk he's not going to outbox that ****er.. His trainer needs sacking
Be hard to come back from this one as Usyk is not going to go all 'excesses' like Ruiz did before a rematch. Fury will beat Usyk because he is just as hard, perhaps an even better natural boxer and a lot, lot, bigger ... May have saved AJ some 'domestic' humiliation tbh ...
Joshua’s opponent just needs to be focused and hungry on the night and he wins. It’s what I’ve noticed with his defeats
