What is it with having to mention Referees in almost every match this season so far. On Saturday we have the pleasure of welcoming Mr Trevor Kettle. The one man with the weirdest take on footballing decisions I have ever come across. Just what we need for this match. He has issued 23 yellows and 2 reds so far as well as booking himself twice so he doesn't feel left out. He should be booked as a Panto Dame.

So what do we make of this one? Doncaster won their first match of the season last time out. To be fair they don't normally struggle in the league so not sure what has gone wrong this season so far. Well they have let a shed load in so perhaps that answers that one. We on the other hand haven't let a shed load in and have scored well enough. Should be easy shouldn't it but this is Argyle we are talking about. Banana skin? You decide.

Joe Edwards returns otherwise the same side. Still no sign of George Cooper or Danny Mayor.

I'd like to see Luke Jephcott get a goal today. Ryan Hardie can't carry all the load indefinitely.

Cooper, Grant, Galloway, Scarr, Wilson, Edwards, Broom, Houghton, Camara, Jephcott, Hardie.

    Subs
Burton, Gillesphey, Garrick, Agard, Randell, Law, Shirley.

Seems to be the settled team at present.

Doncaster pressing Argyle high up the pitch and preventing Argyle building controlled possession. Greens have had the better chances though.

    Harder than expected.

Argyle pressing forward better in the second half but leave the back door open to a quick break all the way from the Doncaster end.

Goal followed immediately from an Argyle corner. Who took it? Houghton? Who was covering his DM spot?

Argyle cut Doncaster open, Broom brought down, definite penalty according to commentary.

Jephcott gets in via the goalkeeper's hand and a post!

We can win this from here.

Ref loses his watch and plays 8 mins of extra time but Argyle hold on. Not a classic performance by Argyle but we're now half Lowe and half Adams. Can play like angels but scrap like feral dogs.

What a load of rubbish Argyle were over 90+ minutes. I have to admit that Argyle were lucky today and probably didn't deserve the result. Trevor the Kettle did his best to confuse everyone true to form and in my opinion got the first penalty wrong. I did not think it was a pen but he failed to give one for a foul earlier in the first half which I thought was nailed on. Second penalty I agreed with at the time.

I thought Argyle looked tired and out of sorts for most of this game. Doncaster did not look to be a bottom of the table side. Their attack was very lively but their defence is not up to the same standard. Definitely better than bottom though. Kettle was complete crap again. He picked up on stupid things like taking throws to the exact inch which he then ignored for most of them. He let free kicks go and bookings but then booked others for very little. There were 9 bookings and a manager got sent off. It just wasn't that sort of game. Not surprised their manager got a card given what he had to watch. I think that Argyle were very very lucky to get three points today. Will take them of course and why not but if I was a neutral I would not think they deserved them.

Swings and Roundabouts.....lucky today and possibly unlucky to drop two points during that extended extra time at Portsmouth.....Crewe on Tuesday....who drew 1-1 at Rotherham today.....more than we could do.

I do not moan a bit at the matches Mr BC I'll have you know. Very partisan and upbeat most of the time. Crowd were very good again and give their backing to the team 100% when sometimes they don't truly deserve it.
