I wonder how Assem is doing these days, health wise and how or if things might change once he does pop his clog?
I wish no ill will on any of them despite what some fkn idiots on here think, you know who you are, fkn Allam apologists, fkn pathetic, can't see the wood for the trees. If Assem had been true to any of his words instead of spitting his dummy out when he couldn't get the stadium for nothing, or because the Hull Council were too fkn shortsighted this tenure could and probably would have taken a whole new direction. But the pettiness shown by first Assem and then his muppet of a son has been their ruination. To try and justify some of the shyte they have spouted for god knows how long is beyond belief. Talk about blinkered vision. Every person that buys a football club knows the potential upsides and downsides, if they don't.. then don't buy the fkr in the first place! Then try and claim its a gift to the City when it quite obviously wasn't. Follow that with all the bollox they have come out with since and people wonder why they are distrusted and disliked. Sooner they fk off the better for me, pair of low bellied twats
There was a great feeling around the club though. Do you remember when David Lloyd ordered locks to put on the entry gates to Boothferry Park? There was a story in the HDM, along with a picture of said lock. The very next game we got a crowd of 9,000. That was up from the 3,000 we'd been used to. I know for a FACT, That was because stay away fans were saying 'OH NO YOU ****ING WONT'! The crowds picked up from that point right there and the atmosphere was amazing. Remember that night "THIS IS BOOTHFERRY PARK" and the racket we all made? I believe that is why we were recognised as a club that was worth investing in. We'd made someone see this. It all started before Adam Pearson and (what's his face came in Hull City has great potential to be successful, but we know when someone is taking the piss.
Think AP and his backer looked at clubs from cities that were well below their level in the football league ladder, and Cardiff got sold while they were deliberating, so City it was.
YEP - he also mentioned the potential. He was right too. Built up a great fan base from that potential. Then Allam came along and totally destroyed it.
You are right, he did talk about the potential as a / the key reason it was us. If I remember right, he talked of us and one other club having massive untapped potential. He was right. But as you say, Allam's have pretty much totally destroyed what he built and we are now left once again with that damn 'P' word. (Come on City Man, as if Kath Hetherington running FC had anything of any material significance in all this. You are better than that.).
They are not going anywhere. Are we still receiving cheques for Bowen & Maguire? January will soon be upon us with us bottom of the league. GM will then say we can’t stand in the way of players like KLP who we then sell a sell on the last day for 10m with a sell clause with no time to replace him and others. It’s never ****ing ending.
You're probably right. But what I just said, I remember it so vividly. "This is Boothferry Park" He was a local actor, I remember he played his part in Minder. I Chatted with him a few times in local shops. Cant remember his name, someone will help me out here.
If KLP wants to be sold for 10 million on January 31st he needs to pull his finger out and start doing something. His main attributes at the moment are speculative shooting from distance, getting caught in possession and scowling.
And those other clubs don't have (and never have had) the Allams as owners have they? It isn't a coincidence.
Bowen never got discouraged, always gave 100% like he loved the game. Not many players like that, happy to take corners etc
