    No great surprise in that....

PS...My 20th prediction is looking a tad optimistic.

though when someone can't spell 'outside' you do wonder about the integrity.

What I glean from that is twofold, firstly our final ball and creativity is dire.. resulting in hopeful long range shooting, and secondly our set pieces are a thing of hit and hope.. someone illuded to McCann suggesting extra work in training and we all hoped it would be on defensive set pieces, but it seems like I said at the time we need to work on both ends, both defensively and attacking, one thing is for certain, if you aren't creating many chances from open play then your set pieces need to be strong. Currently we're shyte at both !

For ten years or longer I have been sick of seeing no one coming in from the back corner of the box for a cross to the far post . We see crosses hit to there just floating out time after time . If you run in a couple of yards you get height and momentum , we seem to start the season with good ideas for free kicks and corners - within a month they are forgotten - bit like refs new directives and rule interpretations .

    It does seem like that!
We have had short spells under McCann where there's been some neat routines, but then they disappear. Odd.
Maybe it's because they've been concentrating their coaching efforts too much on defending corners and set pieces? :emoticon-0112-wonde

What this doesn't show is how bad we are defensively at set pieces. I'm sure we'd be bottom on that as well. This is the sort of area where Terry and his helpers don't come out well. We lost four goals from headers off corners in one week recently. That was a huge problem last season and it hasn't been sorted. Its the kind of thing that a coach should be able to improve upon even with players of less than average technical ability as its about organising and understanding some simple basics. Even that's lacking.
