I agree. I just don't understand the link between U23 teams and the Islamic legal system......apart from the obvious

Why, what’s the problem with disliking people wanting to change our culture?

Obvious what? If you’ve got something to say, say it don’t post cryptic messages.

I always liked Pep because I thought he was a genuine football obsessive. I know the general make up of the Spanish league system (but perhaps not in detail). Someone in his position should know the make up of the English league system and why this suggestion is anathema to English football fans. I'm disappointed in him that he either does not know or does not care.

If he wants them in the EFL then he should put them in at the bottom of the pyramid and let them EARN the right to play at that level.

Absolutely not. That would completely undermine the fundamental principle of the English football pyramid. No club should have more than one team in senior football.

Always thought Guardiola was a dick and this doesn't do anything to change that opinion.

    Self serving bollocks from Guardiola.
Looking forward to when him and Klopp go home.

I quite like Pep, but the arrogance of that press conference has changed my mind, who the f uck does he think he is. Our system has worked for years and years without his help.

  16. I'll probably get shot down here....again...:emoticon-0102-bigsm....but whatever is wrong with a good old-fashioned Reserve League? Teams made up of first team squad players, those currently not being selected and those returning from injury, both getting games together with younger players who are maybe not quite ready yet for first team consideration, but on their way up and hoping to impress. A mixture of experience and youth, playing against their peers in a competitive environment, with promotion and relegation.
I remember as a boy going down to Roker to watch reserve matches....saw some very good players and some very good football.

Was just going to say the same thing, I was young but I'm sure there was a reserve league, why not again?

Seems like the most sensible solution to me. Why did they scrap the reserve league in the first place?
