Was just going to say that
Big issue apparently is leaving the EU fuel deal (it’s not called that but I can’t remember what it is called) so we’re now negotiating imports as a small market and getting shafted for the imports needed for spiked usage (or maybe that’s leccy)

    …actually just watch Martin Lewis!

It's an international issue, due to global gas prices, I don’t think it’s got anything to do with the EU.

Interesting also listening to a professor (?) of logistics from Cranfield (world renowned for it's Supply Chain MBA's) explaining on the radio that the current lorry driver shortage in the UK is actually a common problem across most of Europe, and even in US. Not how some commentators would have us believe. But what does he know eh?!

There’s driver shortages all over Europe, Germany and France particularly, but the issue is not as severe, we’re short by more drivers than they are combined.

    Sorry but that’s bollocks
There is an international issue, but it’s far worse here because we chose to reduce our collective bargaining power
    The numbers speak for themselves

Well, I was in France a week or so ago and French people in 3 different geographical locations (Loire Valley, S. Brittany, Normandy) told me they had a lorry driver problem. Who knows what eh?

    Sorry
I was referring to the ‘interesting’ comment about gas prices
I don’t know enough about lorry drivers to comment on that

Serbia & Norway are on that list but aren't in the EU.
Ireland isn't on that list but is in the EU (and others, but can't be bothered to check them all off).
    Something else at play?

    Maybe
But our bargaining power to mitigate whatever it is…is relatively non existent now
