So here we are again for another round of famous "derby" games which aren't really derbies anymore. I think it is fair to say there is a modicum of rivalry even if less than the good old days and a bit more in recent days. So the big question is can we or will this prove too much. A Tuesday night is never the best day or time to play in my book. Pompey have floundered on the rock of late and we have ridden the waves to glory. Almost poetry isn't it. We have it's fair to say flattered to deceive in the past so what to expect this season. If you listen to Plym then we will be lucky if the Satnav works long enough to get us there never mind play well. He does like a bit of doom does Plym. I'm going for a big result and an Argyle win. Wooperts will probably go for numerous bad fouls by Argyle players and poor decisions by the Ref when one of ours falls over with assistance.

I've been invited to Son's to watch this as he is buying the link. It could be a long trudge home or a short skip and jump.

Certainly not ideal when we were away in London on Saturday!

Still they've been slumming it in the bottom half of the pyramid since 2017 and haven't started thus season well, losing three on the trot leading up to this game. They conceded 5 in losing at Wimbledon last time out where we just won 0-1.

It's easy to get carried away but given the way we're going I don't see any reason to be scared of them.

Ignore that bit about Wimbledon... that was a Football League Trophy game! But the sentiment remains: they haven't won in the league for a month.

I have just read that the Ref for tomorrow has shown 31 yellows and 3 reds in 7 games this season so far. That says a lot about him to me before ever a ball is kicked. Gulp.

Now is the time to play us to be honest, as we are on a bad run struggling to win matches, and score goals (mind you, Ronan Curtis's goal on Saturday was a cracker!).

After a winning start to the season with nine points out of nine, we have floundered ever since, and are currently without three injured defenders including our skipper Clark Robertson. There is talk of bringing both Sol Campbell and Sylvan Distin out of retirement to shore up our defence.

As I am away on holiday at present, I shall be watching the match on iFollow in our rented accommodation down in sunny Dartmouth. Alcohol will be involved, win, lose or draw. May the best team win (preferably us).

Nice to see you getting your excuses in early Wooperts. I often think it's best never to expect too much even if I post on the positive side. Where do you stay in sunny Dartmouth? There are still enough pubs there to float the Fleet. Give my regards to the Inlaws if you see any.

A very nice modernised apartment in Newcomen Road, just above Bayards Cove, with great views across to Kingswear, and up to Dartmouth Castle at the mouth of the River Dart. I'm on 10% commission if you would like to rent it. I would highly recommend the beer garden at the George and Dragon for a swift half if you wanted to see your inlaws. Enjoy the game.

Pompey obviously found their true level in League 2. Game consists largely of wild tackles and referee baiting. Piss poor.

Done by a clever free kick however, rightly given but finding it impossible to play our football in this harem scarem non league atmosphere.

Very different second half in that football was played, therefore much better for us. Hardie as ever completely average. He's clearly going backwards as he was able only to put the Pompey keeper on his bottom for his second as opposed to keeper AND defender v Wimbledon. That's partly because no Pompey defender was able to keep up with him in getting there.

Gutting to have thrown away two points at the end, especially as it was Ragget to score it, perpetrator of the first of many gruesome Pompey tackles in the first half. Still, an away point, still 4th with two successive home games to come.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry after watching that one. We started so badly and to be fair it wasn't a big shock to go one down. Not because Pompey played well but because we were slow to do anything. I was a bit surprised at the Pompey hoof ball tactic. Took me back a few years did that and they kept it up for a lot of the 90 plus minutes. I did make reference to the card happy bunny with the whistle before the game so no shock he waved it everywhere. Had there been VAR, and I expect Wooperts not to agree with this, one of the Pompey players should have walked. Out of sight of the Ref whilst the players milled about he grabbed Camara by the neck with both hands and tried to lift him off the ground. They targeted Camara from the start and it was so blatantly obvious what the tactics were. Another player would probably have seen red in more ways than one and retaliated but fortunately Camara isn't that kind of player although it clearly pee'd him off. Some of the agricultural challenges on him were awful and the Ref should have stopped it. At halftime we had committed 3 fouls and had 3 players booked. They had 9 and had 3 players booked and probably 7 of the 9 were on Camara.

As Notdistant says the second half was better although Pompey still lumped the ball up a lot. It was end to end stuff and when we scored the second you sort of knew it wasn't going to be the end. The sickener was the 95th minute. How good is Hardie one on one though. I thought he had cocked up the first one but when showed again it was a clever dink over the Keeper.

I know the place well and the view even if not from your window. I don't need a place to stay I have inlaws in at least 5 houses in Dartmouth so wouldn't need to book anything. Also know the Pubs very well and have probably drunk or been drunk in most of them over the years. Favourite place for a tipple in latter years has been the Football Club in Townstal. The Grockles don't tend to go there and the price of a pint is cheaper.

Seconds away from being top of the league last night.

Camara obviously targeted as the danger man.....did he get enough protection from the Ref......he is definately Argyle's Duracell Bunny......but 46 games is a lot running.....and it was evident last season that he ran out of steam before the end of the season.....It would be good for him to be subbed if possible now and again to help him last the season.....he is just too honest at times....many a player would of gone down under more often under some of those challenges.......him breaking into the penalty area must scare the opposition to death when the possibility of a penalty foul is at stake.

Galloway has just played two hard games within four days.......is he holding up better than anticipated ?.....I thought the plan was for him and Gillesphey to basically job share to protect him from injury.

Argyle played well and got back into the game and did no substituting until the very end....did that upset their rhythm at a vital moment.....could it of happened earlier.....so was it plan A till the bitter end.....even giving a goal away in the 95th minute was a shame... but overall I think we would have accepted a point at the beginning of the match... and especially after 6 minutes at 1-0 down.

To paraphrase Ryan Lowe's post match interview:

"We were the only side out there playing football"

"Pan (Camara) needed protection, they'd obviously targeted him, some of the fouls were ridiculous"

"I said to the ref at half time "their players are diving, mine aren't, do we have to dive to get free kicks?"

    Blunt, but fair comment.
