Leeds battering Liverpool Forshaw is creating chances and laid on goals for Struijk and Gelhardt. Joffy has forced another great save from the keeper and now has won a penalty. Joffy for his hat trick? Keeper pulls of a save and stops Gelhardts tripple still 0-4
A missed one earlier in the season so Summerville took the next and Greenwood took the next. He obviously wanted this one but it was a very good save, not a bad penalty
All over and that sends a big message to the so-called super rich teams in this league. MoM performance from Joffy Liverpool 0-4 Leeds
Many thanks for the highlights Doc. Joffy needs to take his chance and then he'll quickly become a first team regular. Also, did you see how Struijk looks an absolute beast at that level now, which I guess explains why he's broken through sooner than the others.
Think it was a great bit of thinking to play him as a no'8. Absolutely nothing for him to learn by playing at the back at U23 level.
Yep. When you watch first team players come back from injury in the 23's they really do look at a completely different level. The likes of Struijk, Costa, Roberts, Forshaw, Poveda have all stood head and shoulders above everyone else at that level over the last 12-18 months yet are mostly deemed not quite good enough at first team level. The only two who look like that from the rest are Gelhardt and Summerville. Summerville is now cementing himself in the first team set up. Gelhardt must be close.
Agreed buster but never seen him score like that for the first team, therein lies the difference me thinks
We need to discuss tactics for next week me thinks... Take it your keeping a low profile as usual or are you bringing the horsebox to do multidrops ?
Friday night could see Leeds U23s go top of the league by beating Blackburn 4-0. The kids have done fantastic in their first season in the top tier. My only concern would be around team selection due to first team injuries and the game against WHU. Will Bielsa allow the kids who played the other night risk injury and lose them for WHU or will he have enough players back fit.? Llorente and Koch were close last week so if both fit we have 3CBs available and dont need Cresswell. Is Bamford fit, if not we will need Joffy or Greenwood for the first team. Summerville will also be needed as replacement for Raphinha, so will be interesting to see who plays for the 23s and how many minutes they get
