Hello, all. Hope everyone well. I see its been announced that the Devizes crew and the forum's favourite trainer are joining forces once again. The former have bought a 3YO filly and she will be sent to Seven Barrows. Ile de Jersey for that is she. The old girl has, to date, had 2 runs over hurdles in France and has a formline of -21. Triumph Hurdle contender?!? Time will tell...
Really poor racing today and sad to have to turn to Hamilton for a bet but I felt today might finally be the day for Iris Dancer to get her head in front. A frustrating run of places has meant that the handicapper cannot relent but she has been there and thereabouts and in one race only went down by a short head. Her last four runs at Hamilton have all been second places and in one instance the margin of defeat was just a short head. Iris Dancer has won on soft before and it was over today's trip of 6F, so there are enough boxes ticked and the question mark is clearly whether she is a professional runner-up? At 9/2, I felt it was worth trusting that conditions today and course form were reasons that she could come good. 3.20 Hamilton Iris Dancer 9/2
After earlier mentioning one Seven Barrows inmate as a possible Triumph horse earlier today I know feel, somewhat, obliged to make the same remark about Impulsive One who won very nicely, for the great man, at Plumpton this afternoon. Easing to a 12 length success on his hurdling bow. The race probobly had a bit of depth to it as well as 2 previous winners were contained within. In the same Plumpton race Princess Camilla's filly, Dark Motive, finished a creditable 4th and she will now be given a handicap (Dark Motive not Princess Camilla) mark and could prove one to look out for in this sphere.
