I didn't see the game as ifollow wasn't showing today. I just watched the highlights from what I saw from comments and reports we were beaten by the better side. However the defending for Egan 2 goal was criminal, we desperately need a Aboulaye Faye type centre half who dominated the area. Having 2 inexperienced centre backs are just being bullied. Why isn't Tyler Smith starting? He was onside for his goal, and Sharp clearly offside for the penalty given. I do have a slight bit of sympathy for McCann as Ehab has given him nothing money-wise to probably get better than we have got, but his game management is severely lacking and that is the worry. In addition the coaching of set pieces is obviously a worrying problem, we have suffered from this for a while and it doesn't appear to be getting better. It's a pity both Tom H and Greg Docherty were out, as we certainly needed them yesterday. Finally, good to see KLP get his goal which was well taken, his pace to get by the defender was good to see.
Not a daft comment at all. It's about priorities. McCann doesn't even see the need. He's wrong. Yesterday was just another example, literally men against boys. There would have been, and probably still are, decent CB's with experience available, not just in England but abroad too. The points is, we can't afford not to, not that it would likely cost that much anyway. Remember how many were saying it's a buyers market, they'll be high numbers left without a club, etc etc. But you have to see the need first. McCann chose to start the season in the Championship, and knowing what happened last time we were there, with 2 x 20 year olds, 1 x 23 year old and a fourth choice at 24 year old, all of whom have a grand total of 7 games played at Championship level, with most of their other relatively few senior appearances being L2 & L1. Madness.
Agreed. The referee yesterday let the game run, and therefore Sheffield United got away with a lot of stuff that another ref might have pulled them up for. That’s not me moaning about the ref, that’s me saying we needed to be cannier and play that way too. More experienced players would have understood that and either forced the ref to crack down a bit or won some of the more physical battles. We needed someone with a bit more nouse yesterday. As much as I rate Bernard, I’d rather have spent slightly more money on experience.
Yes you’re right he did let a lot go Honey man came on and and had a go back good on em And well played cannon too who had a good dig at their sub I’m not gonna spell his name who did him off the ball first
Terry isn't up to the task on the whole I would prefer him to sling his hook sooner rather than later
I'm reading all these as I look at the TV schedule for this afternoon as its raining.... The Alamo is just about to start on Channel 5
If you know the history of the discovery of Phosphorus, a better solution would be the immersion & evaporation therein, rather than in the Bosphorus?
