After we moved our daughter into Uni halls we sat down the road in our car for over an hour waiting to see her and see if she settled ok , needless to say she walked out with her new uni friends and didn't glance back Happy for you RCL
Hopefully after the game I will join you for a flagon of boiled piss and portion of crow pie As always this is the game more than others that I love to win because I ****ing hate this lot, COYS
Me and my uni kid do a prediction league competition each week...my first message to her after she has moved out was a photo of the scores as I am winning this week. Her first message back was "screw you" I love being a dad
Pressure's off isn't it, no one including us on here expects anything but defeat . but what if...... Alright alright i'm heading CK's cave, save me a spot at the back
For the two of you with offspring springing off this weekend: That's triggered some emotional memories from a few years ago. But the feelings were worse when Little Audrey went off to foreign parts for a year as part of her degree. Then she decided to do an MA in London. (Yay!) Then couldn't get a job (sort of yay!) Then got a job in London (Yay!) But recently got a better juob (still in London - yay yay!) which sychronised with a move into a flat with boyfriend............ and boy! has that been tough! (even though they're only minutes away!)! So what I'm saying is: cheer up - it gets worse!!!!
That's not exactly a defensive line up. Bit worried about Hojbjerg up against Mount but there will be plenty for their defenders to handle too.
I wasn't intending to watch the game but tbh this selection intrigues me. No idea what formation we'll play but my guess is 433 with Dele and Gio in with Hojbjerg and Tanguy further up and hopefully given a totally free role with zero defensive duties. Like you say, I think Nuno might have looked at Chelsea and thought there is absolutely no way we can keep them out with a RB and CB playing their second ever games and another CB returning from injury. So he (hoping and praying) realised that sometimes attack is the best form of defence. Tbh this is how we should be approaching games against inferior opposition. No idea why we flatter the likes of Watford and Palace with such defensive approaches.
"The game is about glory, it is about doing things in style and with a flourish, about going out and beating the lot, not waiting for them to die of boredom." "It is better to fail aiming high than to succeed aiming low. And we of Spurs have set our sights very high, so high in fact that even failure will have in it an echo of glory." Perhaps today, of all days, it has finally dawned on all concerned what the "Spurs DNA" really is.
The thing I like about the lineup is that it's the theoretical best 11. So Nuno stuck with the team that was winning till they stopped winning, then reverted to who in theory should start. If they get a result, they'll deserve to keep their places. If they don't, they shouldn't complain if they're dropped. It seems fair, which is helpful, and follows the first two rules of strategy: never change a winning game, and always change a losing game. Of course, it's not proof against fatigue, lack of fitness, insufficient talent, poor tactics, bad luck and crap officials. But you can't have everything.
Lack of pace in the team barring Son, but an attacking team on the face of it, hopefully Nuno gets his tactics right, but I am expecting us to be outplayed and a narrow defeat.
