I thought it a strange substitution but Stefan then immediately went further forward to conduct the attack so there was probably some logic to it.

Just saw on Twatter that of the top eight as it stands, not one of the teams won: four defeats and four draws.
We are playing well, are four points off the top and it is very, very early doors.
    Chins up, fellow sufferers!

I suppose one thing we can take from today is that sometime soon we'll put away the chances and some unfortunate side will get a thrashing...

After reading everyone’s reviews, disappointing that we let another game slip by.

    It was daylight robbery.

There were some great QPR performances and we played some wonderful football, creating lots of very good chances. It could have been 6-2 to the superhoops. If we carry on playing like that and get a bit of luck, we are going to do very well this season and see some glorious football.

My biggest concern is the amount of goals we're conceding.

We will only be an excellent side when we stop conceding joke goals

At a wedding all day. Followed the score line and stats and just looked at highlights now.
Sad not to get the win and even sadder to lose in that way.
At least Wells had the grace not to celebrate!
I agree it is not a disaster yet by a long way.

Just watched the extended highlights from the ‘office’… how we did not score is beyond me. Forwards can’t complain at lack of opportunities in that game. Bentley did well but we really need to be putting the ball into the corners I.e not at the ‘keeper.
I’m afraid both goals were again defensive lapses. DeWijs not good at both goals and Dickie poorly positioned to pressure their player in front of goal to stop Martin having a chance. Clearly we dominated and had all the chances, but if you don’t make your percentages you get punished; and we did.
Onward to a tough game against West Brom on Friday - hope we have enough in the tank to give them a game, we need the three points now for sure.

Yes, we played well, BUT, our forwards did not take their chances, and our defense leaked.

Very disappointing and heartbreaking, but certainly not a disaster.

Hoping for “ugly wins” against Everton and West Brom. :)

We feel your pain, we have thrown away wins after the 90 min mark twice already this season. It’s all part of the fun…..

It seems very often strikers (not just ours) hit the ball to the goalie.
Surely that's something address in training?

As much as I like Dieng, it would be great if he could one day “save” us in these defensive blunders!

Just been watching Jimmy Greaves goals on YouTube. It’s very noticeable that, 1 on 1 he almost always dribbled round the keeper to tap in, and I remember this being the norm for strikers to at least attempt well into the seventies if not longer. Now they tend to shoot on sight. I don’t think our ‘misses’ yesterday fall into this category, but it seems like a dying skill. I’d be delighted if someone could give me evidence to the contrary.

I agree. At the risk of being accused fickle, or as having a short memory, Dieng's breath-taking heroics do seem largely consigned to last season. I'm sure he'll get back up to speed shortly... class is permanent and all that.

Just to put a bit off perspective on this result.

we conceded late to Blackpool only a draw-Conceded late to Luton only a draw. Battered Swansea and lost.
Football is a funny old game <laugh>

Not sure if I've posted this idea before but I wonder if there is some sort of predator / prey primitive reflex that causes the 'predator' to shoot at his 'prey'!

It's perhaps too easy to criticise strikers who've got milliseconds to make the right choice with two or three defenders thundering down on them.
