Typical Watford, never punish teams when we totally outplay them, we even let Liverpool off the hook by only beating them 3-0 King is the only forward not to have scored yet, is that bad luck or not being up to it Sarr with a bit of luck and or a correct penalty decision would have scored a hat trick or even four or five goals but he needs the combination with Kiko to bring out the best in him There are points to be collected from Newcastle and possibly Leeds if we play to our full potential Then of course our usual 3 goals against the red scousers should set us up for the rest of the season
so couple of questions 1) Is Bachman injured, if yes, why was he on the bench? 2) Did Kiko go off actually injured or as a precaution? If injured does anyone know any details cheers
Munoz said after the game he was dropped. Xisco can make some big calls it seems (I suspect he was the one who told Deeney he wasn't going to be first choice) and glad they paid off yesterday as he was getting a lot of stick before hand (why don't people wait till the game has finished) Not sure about Kiko but he does seem very injury prone. This weekend's boo boy seems to be Craig Cathcart - I mean he was maybe caught out for the goal but was a good pass and finish. God forbid we have anyone in the team over 30!
The club certainly hyped him up with media interviews! Mind you I find we do that a lot.... Maybe all clubs do.
A very strange argument has been taking place on the BBC comments about our game yesterday. It goes like this. Norwich have no real intention of competing in the PL, they are happy to get the TV payments one season, followed by parachute payments the next. This prevents other teams from earning some money. The solution according to some is to prevent a team going back to the PL for perhaps two or three seasons after relegation. I don' think they have thought this through.
In my experience, the comments sections of the BBC's website are generally inhabited by weirdos, trolls and conspiracy theorists. Not that I include you in any of those categories of course...
Highlights from my local Highland League club's draw in the Scottish Cup 1st round yesterday - posted only for the first ten seconds really, and to highlight what I see as refereeing inconsistency. Does anyone else see the similarities between the penalty awarded and the two that weren't in the Norwich match - specifically the one Rose should have conceded and the one Sema should have been awarded? Or is it just me?
I didn't see the ones in our game but that does look like a foul so if they were like that then yes should have been given.
Yes - you can see that by the comments that get deleted. It's just uncontrolled. Norwich have had a hard run of games tbf - I'd judge them after some "easier games" but then yesterday wasn't very encouraging I guess from their point of view. If we had Man C/Liverpool/Arsenal and Leicester we might have lost 3/4 of those games too. Might be useful if Norwich didn't let the oppositions best player run the show as they did with Sarr but from what I saw on highlights they had chances themselves. They just don't go out and spend silly money for the sake of it to protect the future of the club. Probably didn't help selling their best player but think there was no choice really. Anyway we always seem to beat Norwich - probably their bogey side.
I was very thankful that during the whole of yesterday's game we did not once try to play the ball across the back from goalkeeper to wingbacks and back again, a tactic we continually used against Wolves without any end product. It was also evident we had a more direct approach yesterday throughout the game.
This site gives a detailed analysis of the game. It's a bit much for me! https://eplanalysis.com/analysis/ep...e-duels-won-and-more-from-norwich-vs-watford/
