Unless I'm missing something, the overturn of the pen and red card in the City game is one of the worst decisions I've ever seen in any sport. More annoying was the commentator somehow trying to justify it. "Kyle Walker's strength in getting across." He slams his leg over his opponent's leg from behind, sends him to the ground, and gets nowhere near the ball as the last man in the box. And we haven't gotten to the crucial part, which is that an overturn should only happen by rule due to convincing evidence the call was wrong. There was clear evidence the call was right. I just don't get it. Is there any way Southampton gets that overturn? I also wonder why I bother watching such a crooked league...because this is an overturn City needs to avoid falling off the pace this season.
I don't see how that penalty gets overturned. For anyone that hasn't seen it: https://juststream.live/RefitsPressurecookingTongues Clear and obvious error? Really? It's not a red card, though. He makes a genuine attempt to go for the ball and it's a penalty, so double jeopardy applies.
Not red card. If armstrong doesn't flop early is a definite foul. I still think it's a foul though as walker comes in from behind and doesn't get the ball. I think it it wasn't given, theres not enough to overturn it and if it is given then you have to give it. Farcical from moss
I don't think that Armstrong flops early. He's trying to shoot and the leg across blocks him off and Walkers hip catches him and puts him over. No idea how that's overturned, to be honest.
It's the current definition of "managing the game" - by making sure refs manage to stop certain teams dropping too many points to teams not entitled to them In other words, our win on the opening weekend ****ed Southampton Sorry about that
It wasn’t a penalty imo. Var got the decision right and the ref made an error giving it. Isn’t that what the technology is for?
"If Moss adjudged this [the pen on Walker yesterday} a clear and obvious error, the official may wish to consult a dictionary to reacquaint himself with the terms’ definitions." https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...-city-southampton-premier-league-match-report
My best laugh in ages today when I heard West Ham had brought on that twat Mark Noble to take a last minute penalty and that he’d missed it.
Not the first time that Mark Noble took on a task that was way beyond his capabilities... please log in to view this image
