That's a good point. We've got a young defense though, and they're not schooled in the dark arts yet (absolutely guessing, I bet Doyle is, probably the under 12s at man City are :emoticon-0102-bigsm). It's not going to go all our own way this year, the ownership have made some brave decisions, starting a 17 Yr old in central defence every game, even in the third tier, is outrageous really (unless youre talking about a Rooney standard player) . Paid off so far though! Disappointing result due to the time they equalised, but we're doing champion. Bit of perspective needed.

Get the ball to the corner flag, or waste time mock injured other teams do. We have had a tough run of games, now ex league two team Bolton then Cheltenham coming here must be won and in style.

It was a shambles. Danny Collins and Frankie played it back 6 or 7 times. Bailey W had a yard on his man in front of goal. The Hoff had got the ball before their player had a shirt pull. Crap decision. Mind, just a little bit crappier than the one given to us

Roker Report has our Keeper Hoffman as MoM... He did make some good saves..

Bailey Wright given 3 out of 10... At fault for the 1st goal, them gave the pen away.

We are missing another goalscorer...a Phillips, a Gabbiadini....we create loads but can't quite kill it. However, despite our areas for development we are still in a strong position and we will go up

Heres my tuppence worth. Im lucky enough to live abroad and watch on streaming and have Frankie and Danny replay the key moments. Here are my observations from today:

Hoff is class - young but OMG a cut above
The defence missed Flannagan - BW is not what he was and hasn't got the organisational skills of Flanners. Alves looked good when he came on though
The midfield is sound - blessed by talent, youth, pace. It is creating lots of chances. - mainly using the flanks of McGeady and Cirkin or Gooch and Winiesta.
The forward line could be re-designed. At the mo, we are playing some inviting balls into the box and unless Rosco is there they are not taken advantage of. Its a waste - somehow we need to sacrifice either Lyndon or Aiden to include a poacher, as neither Embleton nor Neil, nor O'Nien, are quick enough or forward enough to assist Rosco. Huggins perhaps?

I still would have this group over last seasons group though.

Wright troubles me, always has. He has never really convinced me he can defend 1v1. I understand his organisational qualities and he can play on the ball a bit (but his passing can get away from him). I just dont think he is suited to this league where set pieces and balls into the box are so important. Flannagan can handle the 1v1 stuff. I would have kept McLoughlin over Wright to be honest. I reckon he is here due to wages. Just my opinion.

We also had plenty chances to score more than 2, I'm quite happy going gung-ho at times, I believe we'll win the league with that style, I was pissed off with the result but we were unlucky conceding a penalty that late in injury time, these things will happen throughout the season but I think we will be too strong to not get automatic promotion.
We have a very young squad who although they inexperienced have started fantastically and will improve. I love how attacking LJ has us playing, never been this optimistic since Keane was here

With our resources and Fleetwoods it should be a no contest, maybe we need to hire the Fleetwood team to run our club :emoticon-0105-wink:

With our resources we should be competing at the top half of the PL and playing in Europe, with Fleetwood's they shouldn't be in the Consett Sunday League.
It's a piece of cake this football punditry :emoticon-0105-wink:

Johnson will not get us up that's a fact he is on borrowed time now, the draws are starting again get parky back we could win a game 3-0 under him, even Jack ross end of October and that is it, we are ****e at defending still and going forward.

Yeah I heard about the flare so my bad. Bailey Wright to blame for both conceded goals. 2-0 up with 10 to play you should be able to see that out regardless. I have no issue with defending a 2 goal lead. But when Wright gets caught out fir their first, it is always going to be nervy. Then to drag a player to the ground us sheer stupidity. I can’t lay any blame at Johnson’s door for 2 poor defensive errors personally
