You'll be the architect of your own downfall.

Barring a knock in training or a freak accident, there’s zero reason for Magennis to start ahead of Tyler Smith against Stoke.

    This.
    It was ****ing ridiculous.
If that is how McCann and Byrne are coaching them, well we are truly ****ed.
And in the post match presser he said he wants them to be more aggressive! Does that mean full blown MMA instead of just WWE against who they are assigned to fight, err, mark?
And not all the blame is on the defenders. For a spell, it really was an embarrassing joke how we were trying to 'defend'.

It was just bizarre, not a single player was watching the ball at any point

Out of interest, what would you actually say and to whom?
Surely more value / point were it McCann and Byrne there?

I sort of get the logic.
If we didn't know what happened last time McCann was managing us in the Championship, if we were at least scoring goals, if he was demonstrating some tactical nous, if he at least understood what it is we are lacking (although he did this evening at least demand that the players 'grow up'!!), then I could go along with the logic.
On the other hand, there's a fair chance that by then we could well be cut adrift at the bottom.
    Last 7 league games:
    0-3
    0-1
    0-2
    0-0
    0-0
    0-2
    1-3
That's 2 points from 21, scoring ONE goal.
It's all a waste of time as Ehab isn't going to sack him. The only hope is he somehow, unexpectedly turns things around (I just don't see it, there's no reason other than blind optimism to think it will happen) or the takeover finally happens.

In football, the past is not always a reliable predictor of the future. That’s my fervent hope.

I think I’ve made it clear previously my utter contempt for those extrapolating from 2019-20 - but in any case, I’m seeing none of the 90% effort that we saw from too many players that winter and spring - this is a limited squad, but it is definitely trying and giving its best.

edit - managed to delete GFAW’s quote - oops!

I agree that effort is not the problem (at least not once Wilks and sometimes KLP have been given a bollocking for not tracking back)

Are you fast enough to be offside?

Do they have specific ones depending on which side the corners from?
Because I only paid attention to that at two (first one being the Honeyman / Sharp salsa) and literally everyone was marking different people from the corner before
