I agree with Sad-eyed here. We are going to pick up the odd draw and defeat along the way. It is to be expected. I know too many draws has cost us in previous seasons but we haven't even drawn a single game this season. We will draw at some point and it won't mean we are back to our old ways. I'm just saying and sticking with my opinion that an away point against a team in very good form wouldn't be the end of the world. Certainly nobody should be gutted if that is the final result. I don't think for one second that this is a false dawn or we won't go up automatically.
Also, just to say,we hear a lot about how opposition teams raise their game when they play us,but I think that's often when they detect a fragility,e.g. when we concede an early goal, particularly at home, our confidence has evaporated and the crowd get restless. With this current side,I don't think it will be the case any more, and,as the season goes on, the opposition will realise it, they may still try to raise their game, but deep down they will know the inevitable outcome.
Years ago a bloke at work said the same thing, only his venue was Shields market place. We did not go up that season and he was badgered at work and in his local working men’s club to keep to his word. So him and a mate went to the market place at 1.30 a.m. when nobody was around, where he dropped his trousers and his mate took a photograph as proof. Thankfully it was not in close-up!
That's a very good point and we've all seen it happen whereby teams are beaten before they start. If we can gain momentum, and get real noise into the stadium, our home games could see us unbeaten.
Tremendous that, really got the blood pumping! No small feat for an away game against Fleetwood! Just like everything else at the club the media dept. is performing light years ahead of what it's been like in the past!
22 years ago!! Bloody hell. Remember that day well, long long night of celebrating. Had a few mates down for the weekend.
What do we think chaps Wright a straight swap for Flanagan or does he tinker and go with 3 at the back I think he’ll probably stick with the formula and slot in Wright
