So.....the apocalypse never happened, closest my plane got was some lasses hair in row 3 (I sit in the 6th), never seen any trouble in town and none in the Leazes, anybody know any different?
Just out of interest to anyone watching on TV was the ref actually as bad as I thought it seemed last night? It looked he gave newcastle **** all. I was ****ing hating that **** last night
Haha aye not one pilot made it.. Some guy rolled his up chucked it and it also failed. Whoever organised that must be proud this morning... Poor ****er... The Geordie general custer
After the first couple were ****, I tore the back of the programme up and did the same. The lass that was a steward came to give me a bollocking for throwing rubbish, and I told her she'd just called the team sheet rubbish - she just laughed and left.
A draw the worst result possible for progress. And Bruce said he was delighted with it. Sigh! So honestly the performance wasn’t bad. Possession was poor but expected. Leeds look in trouble like us that match was chaos. ASM is class. Joel played well and set the goal up but man he can’t finish. What is Miggy?
You see you do get a different perspective watching live football from watching on the box last season it took 18 games before we got one of the so called top 6 refs to referee us this season we have had 3 from 5 games already and they have been shocking could you imagine any Newcastle player getting away with a second booking the way that Junior Firpo did when fouling Fraser ??
He's got to go. It doesn't matter what will follow because we can't continue like we are. We will be in serious danger of going down defending like this. The lack of effort at times suggest they aren't playing for him. Particularly when we did knuckle down and try in short spells, we looked competitive. For the defending alone though, we have to accept we've lost the plot. Horrific. Honestly some of the worst defending I've witnessed at St James. Clark and Lascelles were hardly ever actually at centre half, clueless as a pair. Hayden whether in a back three or supposedly screening - ****e. The wing backs and Darlow had no hope so I can excuse them. The only reason we didn't get spanked is Leeds didn't have their shooting boots on. Rodrigo, Bamford, Phillips, Raphina all had gilt edged chances which they shot wide or scuffed shots. Felt sorry for Darlow, he was being peppered, didn't know whether to come or go because those two clowns were leaving gaping holes. He did ok for me considering, got away with one and was fortunate they didn't really hit the target with their best chances. He didn't actually have loads to do as they were pretty wayward. They probably had 20-25 shots but I can't think of many where he had to make a genuine difficult save. Even if they'd scored the hatful they should have, you couldn't have blamed him because the defending meant it was like training ground moves or a loose 5 a side game. Leeds do play some lovely modern football mind. That move where Rodrigo slotted wide when easy to score was silky as ****. Willock and Longstaff were shocking at times. At least they knuckled down second half and did the ugly stuff right. Joelinton didn't have a great night shooting wise obviously but he does look more useful in that role. If he could get a bit of confidence we could at least make use of him and he'd grab a few. He's not as bad as he has shown in my opinion. ASM different gravy. Almiron a bit in and out, gets kicked and buffeted a lot, stands up to it but doesn't enjoy it enough to always fight back. Felt he deserved a little more protection for all he dives.
Ref was as bad as expected. Tackled one of our players at one point, couldn't see who it was. I don't know why he couldn't have stopped the game like they do at times and allow the team who had possession to get it back? Generally gave us **** all too. I'm all for letting the game flow. But they went through the back a few times, not bookings but free kicks that weren't given. Never liked him as a ref, he's poor and makes it about him every time. He likes being the pantomime villain.
A draw to Bruce is a win and just delays the inevitable. We need some short term pain to get rid of him and I don’t care what comes next. I can’t stand his crap. There is a video of him and Jones trying to give Ritchie advice at the same time. Ritchie blanks Bruce and Bruce realises mid way then shuts up. At the end when Jones has got his point across Ritchie nods and then Bruce shakes his head. It’s a joke!
I tell you what's ****ing annoying too. Manq. He played decent again but he's always complaining he's ****ing injured. He's a right little fairy. Ritchie should be a squad player too, which begs the question just how bad is this Lewis kid? We've spent 15m on a complete dud? Its not like we've got money to ****ing burn. The chances of us ever having to cough up the other 5m in add ons must be non existent. He's only young but he can't get a sniff ahead of an ageing trier who's legs have gone.
Ritchie was lucky to stay on the pitch. His positioning is awful. To be honest most of the players have serious flaws in their game which is why this season I think we are going down. You take ASM out of that side and there’s not one player who you would class as good. Willock should be ok. The rest crap.
The problem is we've not won winnable games. We need Bruce to win the next 2. Whether we like him is irrelevant. If you think wilder will come in and turn us into brasil then you're mistaken and if Bruve loses enough to get sacked whoever comes in will be 6 or 7 a drift already. This time last year nufc were saying it was boring and they just wanted entertaining matches... Was last night not end to end? So was West ham.. It's time to get real... Results are more important
