No surprise. The club have been silent all week, until the squad announcement today. Look at all the noise they made about his availability for the QF (despite it being bleeding obvious, given that he'd literally just spent a month with Trent Bridge as his home ground). Whereas this time, nothing from them. Totally understandable that he didn't want to wait around a month, for the sake of one day. And Australia's quarantine rules was always going to rule him out from popping back over and back again. Fortunately next season won't have these stupid gabs between each stage of the competition.
I give Hants a better chance today than I give Saints. But, quite clearly, that is a very low bar. I mainly just hope that the kids score a few runs. Sure, I wouldn't expect it to more than Somerset score, but it would be nice to see them express themselves on the big stage.
I'll take that. Even before a ball was bowled I wasn't confident about us getting more than 140, and then even more so after that start. I still think it's under par, but it's something.
Banton might have had a poor season, but he's still managed to regularly score against Hants or Brave this season (plus that 100 vs Kent). Hopefully that doesn't continue here.
I'm not convinced that he will ever have the technique to open in red ball cricket but he is becoming vital for our T20 team.
That 6 from Fuller was huge! For one moment I thought I was going to have a crowd catch on Sky! Then it kept on travelling right over my head!
Not able to watch at the mo, what’s the attendance like? Curious to see if it’s been damaged by The Hundred?
