Right. They might be from Turkey but most of them are ethnic Kurds.

It would be the first time the club has ever had a foreign owner. There will be some inevitable resistance from some for that fact alone.

Obviously I'd expect him to be the face of a consortium but the extent of backing will be key, and in terms of attracting and retaining support - well, deeds as opposed to words will determine whether he fills the MKM and sells shirts and subscriptions abroad, or not.

I'm hoping that the Turkish interest flushes out some other interested parties.

Me too but not to the extent that they bid against each other and scare each other off. I don't want the Allams being able to play parties against each other, but wouldn't mind it trying to draw in the 'best' option.

I hope any new owner doesn't rip up the playbook and start again. We're definitely on the right path we just need a few quid to really shove us on. The recruitment has been really good for the last couple of years, considering what we've spent, we just need to be able to push it to the next level.

With Turkey being in the EU, bringing in Turkish players is now a lot harder so anybody that comes in is going to have to be a regular international player so that's something.

That's why I want to learn more about Acun's philosophy around youth investment as I think it's critical we keep that at a high level (or even try to progress further to a Cat A).

It's in a permanent "limbo" state. Applied but not accepted.

Yep, I know .... and our country would have known had they been a member state!!! Thank goodness we weren't in the EU with them!
On the other hand, it would have made the (literal) takeover (of City) far easier!

I'd really hope they would rip up the playbook in a lot of areas. I wouldn't want a new owner to think that the malaise they inherit is the norm in football. We need someone to come in and actually try to grow the club. Get some fans in, generate some hype and have an actual plan for where we want to get to.

In terms of recruitment, yes we've done alright at times, certainly Summer 2020 but that was for League 1. Recruitment at this level hasn't gone so well. Biggest thing that needs to change there though is to actually let the team evolve and grow rather than constantly letting players go whenever their contract runs down and then replacing them with someone cheaper. That practice really has to stop if we want to be anything more than the struggling club we are currently.

The reason no transfer fees have been paid after out after our promotion back to The Championship is quite simple as was the reason the owners took out the EFL interest free loan. The club is up for sale and the asking was hinged around the debt etc. Hopefully it has worked and we are now pitched at a price that has attracted a buyer. I understood that from day one and I'm surprised other people didn't either. Which is why I find the current criticism of the manager and the owners unfair. The manager and his recruitment team have been operating under a very tight budget and the owners like wise from falling attendances ( none at all last season) and therefore falling revenue whilst keep the club's financial side under control and keeping the asking price down.
If the club is sold, will we see a truce and all those who have been vocal in their criticism of the owners and managers return to the fold and actually support the club again ?
