No offence elvington, but how many of those voting actually go to the games or even keep up with what's happening at the club. It's well documented that key players havent even had a pre season, let alone gained match fitness. We missed honeyman and wilks last season when they were injured. I'm not convinced that either can achieve the levels in this league that they got to last season, but McCann isn't responsible for the summer input of players. To be honest the standard of the team more than reflects the level of support that the club has right now.
I had us as in the top half of the bottom third (!). I didn't have us as going (at least) 6 games without scoring even 1 goal!! I also didn't have us as continuing to be so inflexible and one-dimensional. I honestly thought (and hoped) he would have learned something. Too many warning signs of a repeat of the season before last.
In for the time being , it’s too early and you can’t lump his record over two spells but incomplete in div 2 i see our other promoted colleagues are doing really well! Are they running polls on the manager too.? I’m giving the guy the time he deserves when he has the fit players back for a while .
Well Forest have acted quickly and if they appoint Wilder will stay up so that's one less relegation place filled. We should have beat them to it.
Forest fans happy to see him go, similar style of management as McCann, one dimensional tactics and no plan B
How have we missed a trick, wilder would not come to us and we wouldn't pay the wages for him if by some miracle he wanted to come....
Not being prepared to pay a proven manager in this division like Wilder what he's worth is still an opportunity missed. You pay peanuts, you get monkeys like McCann.
The championship as well all know, where in the first half of the season he had us looking like potential play off team, he then had his 2 best players sold from under him and no real replacements, following that a core group of the remaining senior players downed tools and proceeded to do everything they possibly could to unrest the rest of the players In the squad, add in the in the Injuries we had plus add in covid and you have an extremely unique and poor situation all round. Did Grant manage it as well as he could? God no and he will admit that. But last season he got his players in with the attitude and work ethic he wants and the players he didn't want where gone. He then proceeded to win the league in pretty damm good fashion. Roll on to this season and he's working firstly under a form of embargo, he had lots of first team players out for huge parts of pre season due to Covid, which ment limited time working most things clubs do in preseason and then has had injuries and a suspension on top of that once the season had started... They aren't excuses they are facts. The man more deserves more then 5/6/7 games this season before he is hung out to dry by people like you. Especially when we aren't exactly playing badly bar derby. Come November/Dec if we are struggling then I would agree that a chance would probably be needed if we wanted to make survival more likely. But until then....he has the time and more then deserves the chance to improve things
I've said repeatedly on this forum that he should be given until December before a decision is made on his future, but people like you don't listen. My opinion of him is based on his record in the Championship, which is shocking, and I don't think he's good enough. Credit for winning the League 1 title, but I consider that a debt repaid for getting us relegated in the first place. I judge him for the job he was hired to do as a Championship manager, not as a League 1 manager. It would be a more impressive achievement if he was hired in League 1 to get us promoted but he was hired in the Championship presumably to keep us in the Championship at the very least and potentially push for the play-offs. If someone was hired to do a job in any other profession, failed miserably, then spent the better part of a year cleaning up after their own mistakes, it wouldn't receive much praise and you'd still be on thin ****ing ice if you ****ed up again.
