Don’t believe that for one minute, they are untouchable and nobody can compete against them . Just not getting beat 11-0 and hoping to win a throw in is the best you can hope for against these types of sides who will probably finish top 6

Yea it is like a lot of this divisions teams - but they were already championship players so mainly proven and up a level
Someone said even some teams are ‘scoring when getting hammered ‘ that’s the point they are getting hammered!!!

Excellent point considering we was completely dominated from the 1st minute.
We have got to back these lads as it’s not for lack of effort though a more experienced manager at this level would get more out of the team.
GM deserved credit for last season but this division is a huge leap from League 1 and his record in the Championship over the last 20+ games is abysmal.

One of the rare occasions where I didn't keep in touch at all with what was happening down there in Swansea.
A point at one of the top six favourites and not conceding has to be fantastic surely?
Making the defense solid is always the priority and then build from that. Honeyman still to to come back, Wilks will come good. KLP will have his moments.
As I say, that's just from reading the match reports on here, have I missed something?

Unfortunately we are stuck with McCann's rigid 433 formation.
If we are to fit a slow Huddlestone in to our midfield we need to play 442 as we are getting overrun by the opposition paying 4 midfielders and exploiting the spaces.
We have no pace upfront except for KLP and he is playing too wide he is not a winger he should be in the box alongside T Smith. Magennis was ok in Division 1 but hopeless in the Championship. Watching Birmingham on Friday with Scott Hogan and Jutkiewctz up front with Chong playing just behind the front 2 and Deeney on the bench was a joy and anyone expecting Honeyman to come back to replace Moncur and playing him alongside the Doc and Hudds.is going to be disappointed.
We need to play Honeyman behind two strikers and 3 midfielders and we have plenty of them (god knows why we bought Cannon)

I don't particularly disagree, but wondering who would your midfield 3 be? And where would that leave Wilks - to come on for or in place of 1 of Smith & KLP?
Interesting, but don't see it happening .... mainly because McCann won't change it, but also because IF he did, it would almost certainly be Magennis (or Wilks) plus either Smith or KLP (which wouldn't neccesarrily be a bad thing).
As others have said, clever managers would adapt to the opposition, availability, game, etc. McCann doesn't. Unfortunately we just aren't that good, like a Man City now or a Barcelona of old, that we don't really even have to bother about the opposition.

We are stuck with Terry’s tactics, however our “style” is allegedly an high temp attacking according to our leader. Yet we get pinned back for 90 minutes, fail to score in number of games, fail to create shots on target in a number of games and our style is working and yesterday was a good performance. How?

If terry had picked a defensive team in a defensive formation then, well done terry that’s a good result with a well thought out game plan. However we picked our usual formation in our usual “style” and escaped with a draw

Bizarre how getting comfortably beaten by Fulham was a fantastic result but getting a point at Swansea is apparently such a low point.

Share the concern that at the moment we look short up top but must say the level of negativity from some on here seems a bit OTT to me after 6 games.
3 games back after Derby I really feared our defence wouldn't step up. We've since played the promotion favourites and 2 teams who reached the play offs last season. We've also played 3 of the best passing teams in the division I suspect. We looked defensively very good against all 3 and picked up draws against 2 of them. So they've learnt v quickly on that aspect of rising to the challenge of the Championship. It's not that I'm totally convinced GM can sort things out up front as well but really does feel like people are v happy to wade in v quickly - at least give it 10 games. Some people even more positive about Peterborough for scoring twice at Sheffield United (what was the score there again?) than us drawing at Swansea.

Against Fulham we looked enterprising and played on the front foot, like we did against Preston. Yesterday, we basically sat in our half and went sideways and backwards.

In the context of the performance, it's a very good point, but yesterday's effort was worse than the Derby game and that can't continue. It's early days so there's time to pull it round, but given what happened last time, the last thing Grant McCann needs is seeing heads drop and another losing streak coming along. We can do better, so I'd expect to see better against Blackburn.

Also, a few more home games wouldn't go amiss, feels like we've played away a lot.

Don’t think anybody would be overly concerned about no goals in 5 if strikers had missed sitters, we’d rattled the woodwork 5 times, or opposition keepers had all had blinders, it’s 1 shot in target every game . Sick of hearing phrases like away at Swansea , like they are a footballing behemoth . This league has always been a coupon busting league where bottom can beat top , everybody can be got at , and we are supposed to be grateful to breathe the same air as these juggernauts? .. people keep saying we need a lucky penalty or a deflected shot off somebodies arse, you have to earn that luck by getting bodies in the box to start with . Like most others expected a tough season and to not win week after week , but should be causing any team a problem every week , there is no Man City in the championship who you don’t expect to not be able to get the ball off , a very average even league, with fine margins. Just have a go at teams and put them under some pressure , will find they do not like it

Exactly. Some of the comments on here are laughable and reek of small-town mentality. People talking about a point away at Swansea as if we’re a non-league team who just held Man City to a 0 - 0 draw in the FA Cup. The excuses are pathetic. Anyone can beat anybody in this league. Blackpool beat Fulham and we’re supposed to be happy with a point after playing dogshit, negative football and having our first shot on target in injury time.

What excuses are going to get trotted out when we fail to have a shot on target against the likes of the mighty Luton and Peterborough?

We shouldn’t be happy but it seems like the support base nowadays is either overly positive or too negative.
I was at the game yesterday and we completely outclassed by team below is in the League.
I listened to a playback of GM’s interview on RH deja ****ing vu.
The issues are GM is completely out of his depth.
And the owners who need to get out of our club.

I’m happy with the result because we were lucky to get a point. I’m not happy with the performance and 5 games without a goal needs addressing ASAP. Based on his arsey interview with Mike White, McCann doesn’t see it as a problem that needs addressing though and he’s happy to stick his head in the sand and blame lack of fitness and injuries. Credit for getting us promoted back to the Championship but that was the bare minimum I expected of him tbh. I still think he lacks tactical nous and introspection when things are going wrong.

The thing is, the worst performances so far have come against teams we should’ve been looking to beat. The scoreline flattered QPR, Fulham we at least tried and Bournemouth was a hard-won point but Derby and Swansea are two teams we should’ve been able to match and we played dross, negative football against them and sat back and gave them way too much respect.

Summat needs to change and ‘Rome wasn’t built in a day’ doesn’t cut it for me. He’s been in the job two whole years and one of those years was in the Championship.

Prior to the international break he stated how much better we we will be come the Swansea game. Its always next week with GM or the week after or the week after that. He needs to take some responsibility. If we play the same against Blackburn and Sheff Utd we might not be so lucky and get hammered like we should have yesterday by a team in the bottom 4.
