Racism is a social disease not a football disease. Hungary, then Poland, no one could have seen it coming surely! Eastern Block, nah, never! Walker pinched in neck, nothing in that, no siree, probably does it to his donkey all the time, in his native Poland. The funny part of it was he did it directly in front of the ref, and the ref did fook all about it. please log in to view this image
The worst part for me, is if Walker went down holding his face, maybe incorporate a few roly poly’s on the floor, he probably would have sent him off. Not condoning diving etc, but you can see why they do it.
I was hoping for something referencing the 5-1 thumping you handed out to United in 1986 or something
I know a lot of wind-up tactics take place in football, but before it even kicked off, I was just amazed there was no reaction to him pinching Walkers neck, to me that would have been an instant red rag to a bull. It was one of complete disrespect to the guy in my eyes. It wasn't playful, to me it read as though I own you. I'm glad that Maguire did kick-off eventually, I don't normally say many good things about Maguire, but I have respect for someone who stands up to that shhite, bit of the old Keane in him maybe. But what was worse for me, it was bang in front of the ref, and the official didn't even blink an eyelid. This isn't like football of old, gamemanship, where Vinney grabbed Gazza by the balls, this was much more than that, the guy Polish player needed flattening, I just felt that maybe Walker didn't fancy taking him on or maybe just didn't read into it in the same way as i did. Edit: I hasten to add that none of that is proof of racism, but something of that nature was being claimed by the England team.
Yeah he was definitely trying to belittle Walker. Agree with you about Maguire. Good to see other players looking out for each other. I’ve said it before about Southgate, I think tactically he’s not the best, but he’s certainly built a strong bond within the group.
Rudiger? Claimed to have been racially abused by Spurs fans and by a wide variety of Italian fans: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/may/31/roma-antonio-rudiger-racism-serie-a-italy-football There are tons of examples across Europe and elsewhere. We just don't get a lot of press about them over here.
Apparently one of the opposition pkayers said to maguire "80million for you? Fukin pathetic" Must post on here
No games have been stopped here for racism, they have in other countries. Personally I thought the kneeling went on for too long, but since the world cup I've changed my mind.
True story about the kneeling thing. A lad i know was asked by his son (5yo) why the players were kneeling down and he told him it was so we would know they were about to kick off, the nipper told his mates and now there are quite a few of them shouting their dads on matchday's "dad they're about to kick off"
