I agree, Santos was impressive after he came on against Sunderland and it's nice to have a full back who is good at attacking.

Be positive, this is as good a time to play Marseille as any, forget our slow start, Marseille have won only 1 league game in 10 and sit 2 points above relegation in the French table, we've played 2 games less and sit a coupel of wins off a champions league berth - they have deeper problems than us.
Injuries have gripped us yet again but there's enough talent to win out there and our record in Franceis second to none - I'll take us to win 3-2

very excited about Santos. problem is, I don't really want to see him play on the left with Arshavin, as he is clearly better at attacking than defending. i would like to see walcott on the left to help him out, but that won't happen so hopefully gervinho or Benayoun:

    ----------------Szczesny-----------------
    Jenkinson--Koscielny--Mertesacker--Santos
    -------------Song-----Arteta-------------
    Gervinho---------Ramsey--------Benayoun
    ----------------Chamakh-----------------

I know Rosicky played well, but I don't know if he can play 2 games in a week yet, so Ramsey in. Also Chamakh needs some game time, as does Benayoun, so I expect to see them start. If we need some goals send on Walcott, Arshavin and van Persie. Super subs.

Leave Chamakh wherever he's been lying, he is no addition to the team, would prefer to see Park get a game before the Chamster who is average/poor at just about everything.

Benayoun looks up for it every time he takes to the pitch and has plenty, he also a good utility man.

If Ramsey is starting I expect more from him, he's been well below par this year but still has a bright future with us.

Robin - I'd prefer a fullback who is good at defending.

Somebody should make an official match thread or, even better, just turn this into one. That way we won't have all of our thoughts scattered across the different threads like at the weekend.
I think tonight will be tough and although they aren't placed too highly in Ligue 1, the problem Marseille has is drawing. They are a solid team who we'll have to be at full concentration for if we are to come away with a positive result.
A win isn't unreachable but a 2-2 draw is probably most realistic. Theo to carry on his topsy-turvy form of this season, by scoring a late equaliser.

Can Wenger take Ashavin off for Gervinho, you don't have to wait till 75min.

He gave the ball away and did not press to get it back.

Arshavion - completely shocking, as is Arteta and Walcott. Santos is mediocre, Jenkinson ok, Song so so but FFS why do these idiots continually give the ball away.

This Arsenal team is shockingly bad

Defensively, think Djourou is more assured than Jenkinson

What a result. defence actually got stronger as the game went on. Hopefully confidence grows.

    Ramsey must be thrilled.
