Whats our team worth?

Nasri is the better player, but Ben Arfa strikes me as someone who can change the game with one touch/pass/shot. He'll be our match winner like Ronaldo for Real or Messi at Barca where as Nasri is always just a team player.

 

Now this is a tricky one, because what I think they're worth in value to the team may be much higher than the real value. For example, I consider Krul such an important part of the team that I would want us to turn down any offer, even £10mill+.

Some contracts are running out, so Guthrie 1mio tops, also Coloccini never 9, more like 5-6. Tiote could be worth 30. 13 for Cabaye is too much, 6? Same for Ben Arfa right now. Best someone had at 7 mio...sorry mate, more like 3. Obertan 2.5, Ba 7-8.

Alan Smith however... well he's a keeper in-he?

 

I don't a lot about how much people are worth in the current market but are people really seriously telling me Coloccini and Taylor are worth 12 million. Coloccini is a great defender but he is ageing and would be 10 million maximum. Taylor is improving but still had a pretty poor game on Sunday and in reality probably worth about 7 million. Though to be fair Andy Carroll is worth nowhere near 35 million and people like Alan Shearer always your worth what people are people are prepared to pay for you.

I think a lot of people have overrated our team. Sure some might value these guys at a certain price but other clubs realistically would never match these prices (making your valuation invalid) so i valued them at what i think other clubs realistically would pay.

i think this shows we are vastly over rating some of our players.

i love cabaye i think he is an awesome player but he signed for what 4 mill.. and in a handful of games he has put 16 million onto his value?

ben arfa gets injured for a year after playing 2-3 games.. cant remember.. comes back has a couple of sub appearences and adds 15 million to his value?

Why don't some people read the original message in the thread?

So the question is what do WE think OUR players are worth? Or at least, what could they end up being worth in the not too distant future? This has nothing to do with what teams would pay. For example, after recent events, do I think that any team would dish out a huge sum of cash for Ben Arfa? No. However, do I think he has it in him to be a £20mill+ player? **** yeah I do.

Anyone who thinks Ben Arfa is worth £8mill in terms of his ability is frankly a helmet.

And why can't some people comprehend the notion of a bargain? Tiote, Cabaye and Ben Arfa are three players who we have bought for vastly under their actual value. What a club was willing to sell for in specific circumstances does not set the value of a player, and considering these circumstances (Tiote was out of favour, Ben Arfa went on strike and Cabaye had a release cause in his contract) we've got some ****ing cracking details. We can easily add at least £10mill to the sums we paid to get an idea of their real value. Perhaps not at this very moment in some cases, but eventually.

There is a reason why we're currently sitting 4th in the table and unbeaten, you know. I think some people (scratch that, most people) underestimate the class we have in the side and what it's worth.
