Newcastle United could face another fight to keep a player out of Liverpool’s grasp as Kenny Dalglish prepares a bid for in form Magpies wide-man Ryan Taylor. Having spent £35m to bring Andy Carroll from St James’ Park the Anfield boss is looking to lure the former Wigan man as he looks to beef up the right side of Anfield side.

The 27 year old has been in great form as left back cover this season but is more recognised as a right back and is also effective further up on the wing and it’s that adaptability that interests Dalglish. Ryan Taylor moved to Newcastle United two and a half years ago and may be tempted by a move to his hometown club despite the Toon Army’s impressive start to the current campaign.

There are still big questions to be asked about owner Mike Ashley’s long term ambitions for Newcastle United after seeing the North-East club sell a number of first team regulars over the summer including Kevin Nolan, Jose Enrique and Joey Barton and Alan Pardew has had little cash to spend to replace the club’s outgoing stars.

Dalglish is reportedly willing to make an offer of up to £10m for Taylor as he looks to beef up his options at right back and right wing. Currently youngster Martin Kelly has been filling the defensive role with Jordan Henderson further up on the flank and whilst both players have been consistent this term the Liverpool boss is looking to bring in the Newcastle United man to help add further strength in depth.

Liverpool’s American owners have shown great confidence in Dalglish and has spent over £100m on new signings in 2011 and are more than willing to continue to finance player additions as the Merseyside club look to break back into the Premier League top four.

    TEN MILLION??? <laugh>

Must be the wrong player. Either Saylor or Jonas, not Raylor, no way. I mean he's been solid, even great compared to what he's shown in the past, but... no. But yes! Gladly. We'll send him right over.

To be honest Raylor has grown on me since he first came, one of those players I would be unhappy to see leave as he's one of the more passionate players out of our group of lads and i think would be missed but for 10 mill??...i think the article was meant to be about Saylor and the article just got the wrong player :S it would make more sense...

  6. Can't see this being true for any of our players.

Saylor wouldn't go to the bin dippers, he's been around NUFC for too long to leave it while it's doing well to a club only doing slightly better. He also knows what his home town will think of him to do the same as another geordie that will not be named did.

And besides, i doubt Liverpool would start with a 10 mil bid for Saylor, they'd make a 5-7 mil bid first.

Jonas - I could see them wanting him, but i doubt they'd offer 10 million for him at first.

Tiote - Liverpool aren't stupid enough to think they could get Tiote for only 10 million. He's worth 17/18 million at least, but we shouldn't sell for any price.

I can't see anyone else attracting bids of 10 million.

That source is talking out it's arse.

Ryan Taylor has proveed this season what a useful player he is. That said, i'd bite your hand off for 10 mil

  8. Raylor at his best is worth 5m at the most. Versatile yes, worth 10m no.

I can't see Steven Taylor going to the bindippers, didn't their 'talisman' punch his lights out not so long ago?

To be fair to Raylor, he's been quite solid this season playing out of position and after being out of the first team for so long. I rate him around 5-6M but maybe the bindippers are looking for a free-kick specialist and experienced squad player and he fits the bill perfectly...

I really can't see this being remotely accurate - but then I never gave any credit to the possibility of Andy Carroll wanting to leave.

Raylor leaves, Santon takes the LB slot, Ferguson gets to be on the bench, the outcomes of this would be good actually.

It does rank right up there with the Puyol for Saylor swap deal.

If this happened I would be in sure disbelief, but happy we're getting a 10m valued LB/RB instead of someone who plays anywhere, tries hard and occasionly scores a free kick.
