If he contested it why wasn’t he given more match bans as I seem to remember a Sunderland player getting more for contesting a few years ago.
A frivolous appeal, I dont think it has ever happened to another team, its almost as if they made it up for Sunderland
Admits violent conduct but the blinkered Wycombe supporters are still whinging ... ... ffs lads, grow up and take the medicine you love to dish out HolmerBlue 4:54PM "As my old man always said to me... if your going to hit someone, hit them hard." glasshalffull 4:52PM "Blue since 1990 makes a great point. A tackle that inflicts a bad injury and an act of gamesmanship and simulation go unpunished." Yeah, unpunished except for the fact that he was booked for the tackle you idiot. https://gasroom.org/discussion/6859/anis-mehmeti-suspension-confirmed
Was it the same season when good old Stevie G, deliberately elbowed Wellbeck in the face ? Clear red and the ref was forced to reluctantly give him a yellow, disgusting favouritism
Anis Mehmeti has been suspended for Wycombe Wanderers FC’s next three matches following a breach of FA Rule E1.1 that occurred during an EFL League One fixture against Sunderland AFC on Saturday [28/08/21]. The midfielder’s behaviour during the 30th minute of this game was not seen by the match officials at the time but it was caught on camera. He subsequently admitted that this behaviour constitutes violent conduct but also contested the automatic penalty. An independent Regulatory Commission dismissed Anis Mehmeti’s claim during a hearing and imposed the standard three-match suspension. He will miss the League games against Oxford & Charlton and & the EFL Cup game against Man City
I tried to start a thread about 10 minutes back and it was moved into the bowels of the Wycombe match day thread
And ignoring their bad, season ending tackle on Watmore 2 years ago, which they (their fans) described as part of the game. Hypocrites. Can dish it out but don't like the consequences or it given back to them
What a moron, surely violent conduct is a 3 match ban, he is also saying it is not that bad punching somebody, who he knows has a problem with dislocation, he is a thick thug. So he admitted it, but tried to get leniency, actually shows you what Wycombe think of the EFL
WW epitomized by the actions of this lad, wonder how many times their players have been up in front of the 'beak' for similar offences.
Should have got more than a three match ban for daring to contest it, but at least the EFL have acted on it
Yet if you read their fans forum, you will find they are much changed this season and not thugs at all, reformed characters all!
Think he caught him in the face, I wonder if that's what he was aiming for or if the dirty twat was going for his shoulder.
A fan on another club forum, Oxford I think, called Wycombe "the EFLs love child", I think they are viewed as getting an easy ride or favouritism from the EFL
I'm worried about his health tbh. His size has got to be putting his body under enormous stress. Also he's becoming a bit if a 'freak shows'... tho I do like him when I've heard him on TV. Reckon he should quit playing and become a pundit.
Iirc shortly after our appeal that was extended by one match the FA stopped the practice as it was deemed unfair and three games was sufficient, think Turner was the only player this was ever applied to.
They have got off lightly, the punishment is almost an encouragement to repeat the behavior, as I am sure they will.
