clever. Very clever. Has a grown up explained the joke I made over an hour ago? such quick wit - I’m sure a career in stand comedy awaits
It's one of these apparently... https://totalfootballanalysis.com/article/tactical-theory-the-role-of-a-double-pivot-in-build-up
I think 'low block' used to be called 'parking the bus' and 'high press' was 'getting into 'em' also.
It's ****ing bollocks. A pivot is a singularity around which something may turn. A double pivot would seize up. Not a good trait in a defensive midfield duo. Unless it's more like a twin leading braking system where the action of one pivoting part is used to supplement the force acting on the second pivot thus increasing the overall braking force. It's just having 2 midfielders sitting back that's all.
Ingram made howlers leading to vital goals in successive games (was it Derby and Fulham?), followed by gifting the ball to the Bournemouth striker, but the redeeming himself. He has made some great saves too, but it's unusual for a keeper to retain his place after so many errors.
Don't remeber Baxter looking safe as houses against Wigan either - but it'll be interesting to see who ends up with the **** for the majority of the season. Ingram did more good than bad vs Bournemouth and recovered well from 'that' clearance so for me he starts next game.
... and how they move to play out from the back. But from that linked explanation then without the ball it's having 2 sitters. Quite educational on here tonight. I now know how brakes work.
I was thinking motorbike. I once had a Yamaha with twin leading brakes. Went like **** off a stick. Buggar to slow down though.
